Been a member on here for a few years but not very active and although I have owned aircooled RD’s for years I have never thrown a leg over an LC. Well I’m finally going to put that right and I’ll be collecting my first one this weekend... Yippeee, roll on spring!

I agree the AC bikes were great in their day and that is what I had at 17. However, the LC’s are a superior bike in every way and represent the natural progression of the family. I sold my AC bikes but I would never sell the LC. You will have fun and games and there is great info available on this site as well as plenty of good blokes to advise. Good luck and enjoy.

Thanks for the replies.... yes I think I have been missing out which is why I've bought one... last years 2 stroke rally at Squires was full of nice LC's and that was when I decided.

Hi phil, Yes I still have the yellow "F" but its a 250 not a 400, plus I still have the Rothmans MC21.... my brother has the blue X7... I haven't been to the classic trackday at Cadwell for 2 or 3 years but I've a feeling I may be there next year :-)

Its a 350 F2 ready to go but needs fresh paint.. I'm thinking I will fit a round headlight and paint it as an N2... maybe black with red blocks, or maybe white with red blocks. undecided at the mo,,, plenty of time before spring.

Welcome in
I was going to say you were going through a natural progression of RD's like modern man and was going to joke about you having a ypvs by the end of next year but I see you have already skipped the iron age and went straight to the 90's rave scene 🤣🤣🤣

To be fair to beardy, Phil, the wee gob shite from north of the border in the land of perpetual drizzle started it by implying that 4lo owners are the equivalent of bear skin clad pre fire Neanderthals. Oh the arrogance of the pv brigade.

Oh the arrogance of the pv brigade. You've inadvertently flattered me, not been called "wee" since primary school 😘 And "pv brigade" makes us sound quite grand "You alright hun?" Even your insults are sounding nice 🤣 Oh and it's been sunny today, you lot still swimming down there, at least our drizzle is harmless 😊 Steve

Well, picked it up on Friday night, got back and couldn’t resist trying to start it... but unfortunately couldn’t get it to go at all.. So back out Sat morn and couldn’t get anything not a glimmer.. (missed the park run but made up for it by nearly killing myself on the kickstarter...got a right workout). So off for a new pair of plugs even tho the ones in there looked brand new.. Finally managed to get her running but only on the rhs cylinder...nothing at all on the left. Plug seemed to be wetted, there was compression and a spark but no go.. So this morning off with the carbs, float heights were a bit off but most significantly the float needle in the lhs carb was stuck and not just slightly...had to remove the whole valve and pull it free with pliers. It was a bit corroded and needs replacing but i dressed it up and put it back together... dummy fuel tank fitted, 2 kicks and it started straight up.. sounds great. I also sealed the exhausts with silicone as they were a bit loose.... So I’m much happier now...just need to get on with a few cosmetic jobs ready for next spring. Im hoping to run it as a naked bike like an N2, but I’ll need a few parts headlight, lugs etc....main worry is what to use for clocks and how to mount them.... would like to use the originals if possible....any advice would be welcome. Cheers

Made a list of items that are either missing or need replacing at the weekend, its only a short list... but as usual it adds up to about 300 quid !!… and I still need to sort out the paintwork plus I'd like a new set of exhausts as well...

If you hawk at £300, you’ve bought the wrong bike. Worth every penny when they’re done and sorted thought. Jon

Haha not “hawking” mate, I know how much it costs to restore a bike..... I was just making the comment that a seemingly small list can soon run into hundreds of pounds...

Good news though Rob - you'll get £300 for the Lomas pipes that are on it now!
