Hi, I’ve recently changed my CDI on my F1 as I had no spark from the original unit. I’ve replaced like for like, with my CDI unit being the 52Y type. This has now given me a spark but I’ve lost power to the headlight ! Checked the usual culprits of Earths, connectors and fuses. Unfortunately I’m not that good with electrics, all elements were working prior to changing the CDI unit and I’m fairly confident I’ve plugged all the connectors back into the same places, although not totally sure in regards to the black and yellow stripe wire from the CDI with a female connector on it, which I’ve plugged into the black and white wire with the male connector on it. Any pointers no matter how elementary would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe it's just down to a connector being pulled apart whilst you worked in that area?
The wiring to the rear light on my 4LO is tight for example, I've had the connector pop apart whilst fitting a new fuse box/touching other cables.

Is the black/yellow at the cdi not the pv signal and black/white not the kill switch ?

the F1 is a strange loom in that the CDI red/white connects to the black/white for the kill. As Steve says the black/yellow is the PV feed. Dont put this to the kill wiring, fix that for starters. You cant just assume wires connect cos they look similar. Use the wiring diagrams and work it through. See my 51LC build for how my F1 CDI connects to the LC if you want some idea how your diagram should look.
