Mag as a description rather than a reference to the materials ππ

They were a Bugger for shearing all the spokes if you were too rough on them
Swapped mine for alloy rimmed spoked wheels.
They also had a tendency to crack the frame on the top rail just at the gusset on the headstock

Back in the day, we built a ramp from wooden planks and milk crates. Then we had a competition who could jump the furthest. I won, jumping 21 people lying side by side, and a milk crate standing up on edge at the end of them all !!! π₯ππ π€

Full flights of steps or wheelies were my speciality
Laid back seat post made the wheelies a doddle

Holy hell! you got 'crack' and 'gusset' in the same sentence Steve! They also had a tendency to crack the frame on the top rail just at the gusset on the headstock Steve Aussies often call any snazzy car wheel a 'mag wheel'... Great looking BMX!

Its not a Raleigh manufactured in the UK thou is it, so its never going to be as desirable as the original...
I'm seriously tempted by a Skyway TA, my brother (who is 44) bought a Kuwahara last year and has raced in some veteran races, does the same meetings as his young lad, great fun..more fun second time around maybe...
