Hi all Just bought a 31k and while I had exhausts off I noticed the power valve joining piece between the two cylinders have the bolts facing down while engine not running, does anyone know if this is right.?
Thanks

You should be able to see the bolt heads from the front If you can’t ,unbolt the pulley on the left barrel, rotate the valves 180% then reconnect

Hi Matt
I can see them but should they face down to the ground or up towards the fuel tank? Cheers

When you say facing down do you mean the screw heads are on the under side? I have just fitted new PVs this afternoon and the screws on the joint piece are at the top. Set the PV pulley to the fully open position lining up the notch and hole using a drill bit at the top. Look inside the exhaust ports and see if your valves are not obstructing the port i.e the port shape should be almost round and you can see the pistons. If the port is obstructed by the power valve i.e you can see the round body of the valve across the port opening then the valves are in upside down. I think you can spin them round 180 while in place and refit the pulley.

That would explain a lot. I've just removed the pully, spun power valves 180deg, so now with engine off the the PV cutaway is the same as exhaust cutaway so open as much as possible, where before I spun the pv the exhaust port was partly closed off. Does that all sound right guys? Thanks

Spot on Turn the ignition on,let it do it’s clean cycle then adjust the cables so the half moon at the top of the pulley is in line with the hole behind it
