Hi. I picked up a RD350LC frame, swingarm, shock, motor and all the electrics a few months ago. Unfortunately, there is no bodywork, forks or wheels, so it’s a bit of a blank canvas. I’ll probably end up buying a tank and panels from Norbo, and may put a copy Gully on it. It did come with ownership though, so I have already transferred that to my name.
I’ve seen some really nice 4L0’s in the builds section with spoked wheels. I have a RD350LC rear wheel and a XS650 front hub so am thinking about using these. Haven’t decided what forks to use yet though.
I tried to bolt the rear wheel in today and it’s a lot narrower that the LC wheel. I think its about 12mm narrower in total. I did search in the builds section and couldn’t find any information, but I was wondering if anyone had already done this swap and if so could you tell me the dimensions of the spacers you used?
I know it’s a bit of a long shot, but I could get my brother to whip me up a set and pop them in the post if I knew the size.
Thanks

Xs650 front hub is the one to use twin disc etc, isn’t the spindle thicker than an lc though? Xs forks are 35mm so you could get a set of twin disc Xs forks and a set of lc2 Ypvs yokes which fit a lc straight away and are 35mm then you have a wire wheel lc front end.

Yes your right. its thicker, It seems to be 17mm. I have no idea why Yamaha went back to a 12mm axle on the LC and YPVS The standard bearings are 17x47x14. I can also get 15x47x14 bearings which would allow me to run a 15mm axle which I think would give me a lot more fork options without the need to make up top hat spacers, etc. I'm also thinking do I even need twin disks. One large 320mm with a good caliper may be enough.

I thought you needed yokes with a wider offset than Pv yokes ? The Xs hub is wider I believe. Sure someone will confirm but I was under the impression you needed yokes from an fzr250 which are wider but still 35mm. Nigel will know. I have a set of those yokes if you go that route.

Dusty🙂 The XS hub is wider than an LC but I used the wider FZR yokes to allow extra room to install larger calipers. OEB
