Gents Anyone used or opinions on the quickfoot 70 D-Cat ( Dot Laser) chain alignment tool on their LC sprocket? Thinking about buying one off the Bay. Cheers Mark.

Ive got one and it's a good tool to have. Im not sure which make and model it is but it's German made. I use it at work and for my motorcycle chain alignment.
I have found that its best to check the alignment over 4 equally spaced points of the sprocket as you sometimes have a little lateral play in the rear sprocket assembly.

I have a Profi SE-CAT laser, but not working over Coventry anymore. If you fancy a ride over to Dudley, you can check your bike with it.

I bought a chain monkey but if you have a chain guard ( most people) It gets in the way And now use a hold on the sprocket type much better and they make a big difference to chain and tyre wear

I have a Profi LE-CAT one, there are at least two versions, I went for the solid laser line as opposed to the single dot one, that can still get washed out in the daylight though so you need a garage/shaded area for the best view.

The one i use makes a solid line as well. Ive only ever used it in my garage or in an engine so I've never noticed that pitfall.

Brill, thanks gents, probably get one now. Bit of a luxury now after all these years of trusting arm markings or in some cases lack of arm markings. Things move on I suppose. Cheers Rob I'll have a ride over when spare time allows for a chat and test yours.👍
Mark.
