Got one of these fitted to my lc have turned the eccentric adjusters on my metmachex to the highest setting which lowers the back end of the bike and yet the side stand still feels very precarious and I’m always worried about the bike falling over. Any one had a similar experience? I fitted it due to having Nk rear sets which wouldn’t allow the fitment of the std side stand.

i think with my bike its the angle of the side stand bracket as I too have metmachex and NK rear sets , and the billet world stand fouls the mutts pipes but standard side stand is ok , and seeing as i is thick I never even thought about the height difference the eccentric adjusters make mart

If your bike is jacked up at the back, you need a longer than standard side stand to keep the bike at a safe angle. I had a standard one extended. You may have to adjust the angle and the stop for the up position to clear pipes too.

Rob having the eccentrics at the top lowers the bike, which is what I have had to do to get it anywhere near being ok, if you put the eccentrics at the bottom eg spindle at the bottom that raises the back end making it even more precarious, the only thing I can possibly change is the rear tyre which is a 90 profile not and 80. Just wondering if others have had similar problems.

Had that set up on the lc hybrid
Would only leave it on level ground with the steering turned to the right
Lost it off the stand early on in the build so lesson learned. Luckily had no bodywork fitted
I'd left it on the stand with the steering straight ahead. Without warning the steering flopped to the left and down it went

I personally wouldn't, i am going to look at alternatives, when you have invested in new carbon bodywork and a new fuel tank and then best part of a grand on paint the last thing you need is to be worried about the stand, esp when i park it up at the creg pub in a few weeks.

Mart doesn’t the std side stand foul the rear sets gear change? Mine did hence swapping to the billet world one no not on mine , BUT now I remember Dave saying something when it was having exhausts made about modifying the stand and did I mind ,I think the foot was trimmed a bit ,as it stood too upright as was , and a slight gust of wind would of had it on its side I did say I can be a bit thick mart

funny enough I only bought it because people had said about the gear lever bothers (nothing to do with it looking good too), Nigel at NK said it would be tight and i might not get away with STD stand I will post a photo for you tomorrow so you can see I also thought about applying a bit of heat and re shaping the billet one but need to find out if the heat would weaken the alloy mart

Got a BMW sidestand on my hybrid, and the bike sat too upright for my liking, and one time it actually toppled over whilst closing the garage door, luckily, and amazingly no damage, so I ground back the alloy stand where the frame tang sits, thus allowing the stand to sit further forward than originally, and the bike now leans over a bit more so more stable and very unlikely to fall off its stand. Probably not explained it too well, but if you look where the stand sits against the frame, that's where you need to remove metal.

Problem with a camel toe is it then interferes with the gear change again, will look at the triumph one, G&T time here chin chin

I had Nigel at NK Racing make me a stainless side stand. Can be done to match your bike...

I nearly got him to do it when he did my anti dive but he had over ran and still hadn’t made it so Dave (Trubrit) kindly offered me one of his stands. I notice on their website the bikes don’t seem to lean over too much. Probably great for a show bike not so good for one that’s going to be used.

They appear to be a standard sized item, so may not suit every bike...especially modified ones :-)

Well I can see a problem with the BW stand the foot turns in not out this will make the bike stand more upright and foul things.

You’re right kenny I thought that when I Bought it, it is an odd design however I think that is so it clears the rear sets, it may be that ultimately with the rear sets you have to compromise.

Looking at that I am pretty sure I know my problem, 17yrs old ford escort side street into a main road sorry mate I didn’t see you compound fracture tib and fib leg 1 1/2 in shorter limited ankle movement means I have to have my gear change at far more of an angle I couldn’t ride with the position you have it in.

That's the problem when we start messing with different forks, wheels, footrests and exhausts something is going to foul or not work as ideally would. My 500 with different forks and wheels, swingarm and Lomas pipes standing on standard side stand leans over a quite concerning angle - stand too short so have to be careful with camber on roads. Have a triumph side stand to try just have not gotten around to having a go at fitting it but hopefully will lift the bike a bit more upright.

I’ve always made my own sidestands for my hybrids. Just use the mounting part of stand(pivot)cut off mushroom lug(where spring hooks over) and custom make, shape around expansion chamber, experiment with length(start long and keep cutting slightly shorter until desired angle is achieved. When setting length remember to do it with a piece of metal you will be using for foot on floor. When all good, finish welding up(when setting up I have tack welded things together, good tacks as you don’t won’t bike falling over, but does allow for slight adjustments. Then grind foot of stand to desired size/shape,weld lug on in desired position for correct spring tension and expansion chamber clearance. Sorry if I made it sound complicated but is really easy to do. My stands follow the shape of expansion chamber so they all tucked in nicely. Simple!!! Would show pictures but can do complex computer stuff like posting pictures 😄😄😄
