So many of these new nakeds look like the designer was looking at a 07 Honda hornet whilst they were drawing plans out..

I loved the original for many years, first 4 stroke I ever had was a 550 katana also owned a 750 South African import that looked lovely like the 1000/1100. Last couple of years I have started to think just how dated they look, esp in standard form, (thinking 70’s Aston’s 80’s lotus’s far more than a Gpz or their ilk. I was pleasantly surprised by this but I do think they have missed the mark. It just seems to be lacking something.

Thinking of buying a Speed Twin, just holding off for now. Lovely thing though.

Looked at them before the r nine t they hadn’t been launched on press pics but the back end looks too raised, I wanted yet another twin plumped for the bm, have a go on one think you’ll be surprised. What really put me off was the attitude of triumph dealers, went to several factory dealers and was ignored, walked into bm within 5 minutes you can’t make a decision without trying it take it out for a couple of hours. Piss poor trumpet, bm attitude sold it.

BM doesn't float my boat.... I have been to three triumph dealers, two really good... one not so bad. I asked for a written quote from the last one, putting down a huge up front payment. The dealer gave me the quote on a scrap of paper... that put me off. I run my own business and everyone gets a proper quote no matter what they are enquiring about. To me its called being professional, plus it gives the client the reassurance of what I have quoted is what they pay and they have a proper quote to back this up. Some scrap of paper means nothing.

From the front it looks good, the tank looks almost right but the rear end just ruins it. And what's with that stupid exhaust? All diesels have these things and they look fekkin awful.

I reckon all the designers these days just watch Tron again before they sit down to design anything, we get closer and closer to that look ever year it seems and now its with a bit of retro thrown in. weird, but the bikes are effective of course.

I am currently looking to get a retro 4 stroke as a regular rider. As I have an 1100 Katana, I thought I would watch the online reviews before going to take a look. But after watching the videos and seeing the bike from all angles I don't like it. Its far too fat at the front and not long enough to be a modern version. Its just using the name to try to sell a bike that's not been selling well in standard trim. Looking at what Kawasaki have done with the Z900RS, Suzuki should have done something the same. I think the GSX1400 Katana conversions look right.
Funny how there is a lot of love for the Street Twin, its also on my list of possibles.

First time I've seen one at the dealers, not that impressed to be honest, just didn't 'grab' me like the original one.
That whole rear section is terrible in my opinion and even the indicators at the front are mounted lower than most. Not good enough being seen whilst on the road I would have thought.
