I always remember an older apprentice sliding his round the corner into the car park it must have been 1985 I don’t think I’ve seen one in the flesh since

Firenza big in saloon racing back in the day from memory bit before my time, being in my forties. Do a search for pretty much any 70-80s British leyland, Talbot, Vauxhall’s etc few and far between.

Far out, my parents had one those HA vivas in the late 60's
I know cause I had the door inadvertently closed on my arm by my dads mate when I was 5
I scored a trip to hospital and a double flake ice cream for that, no broken bones but the ice cream was good

and I am still closed on Sunday's despite all of the above ^^^^^^^ also closed on Saturdays now except by prior agreement/appointment And there was me hoping that on Sundays you would be busy practising your magicians art by turning yet another set of my carbs into things of unashamed beauty and function......

My brother had a 73 magnum Nice car back in the day Steve My first car was a 74 magnum 1800, fitted a droop snoot body kit, loved that car, as a vauxhall apprentice at the time was into that age of cars, HSR chevette being the daddy.

Well when I say 73 it was an M reg so could have been 74 and was an 1800 too with 40k on it It was the late 80's and weren't many around even then. Lovely big car Chevette HSR, now your talking 😍 My first car was a Chevette but certainly not an HSR 😂 Steve

Those HPF firenzas pictured were very limited in numbers, less than 200 I recall, had an annoying habit of the engine cutting out when driving along, lifting the bonnet revealed the twin stromberg carbs along with the manifold had fallen off. Nearly bought a HSR shuvit once, wish I had now.

I was lucky enough to own an HSR Chevette back in the early 90’s that I used to compete in the ACSMC National B Road Rally competition. She was a bit high maintenance from memory (unlike the Kadett C GT/E that I had before it) but when it was on song, it was a cracker to drive.
Both those cars taught me a lot about the art of fast driving but I doubt you could get away with it these days. ☹️
