More progress today, got the horns mounted where they need to be, and mocked the headlight brackets after cutting them up and mating them to some ally clamps, threw the clock bracket on, going with N1/2 set up because it matches the harness and i've loads of clock parts to knock a nice set up, sorted the bars too with some risers off E-Bay. Rear end fettled with new light lense, indicators and number plate bracket, looks skewed in one of the pictures but it's ok. More progress the morra, i need a beer now. Andy. Thanks Alex, it came with the bike, whoever made it did a great job, simple trim at the back and a slight bend up at the rear and it's snug, was minging, quick polish with the drill and mop and it's spot on! Andy.

Been a busy week, got the tyres and wheels sorted, built the clocks and fettled the rear brake, mocked the bodywork, starting to look like a bike! Intriguing. I have the exact same front end (tyre and all) on the drag bike...so I must be doing something right!

Well, i stripped the bottom end i got from Italy E-Bay, last year, Guy said it's only got 5000 Kms on it, sat on my shelf for years, yeah right i thought, but bought anyway! Crank looked in great order with no play, so i drained the oil, brand new, Hmmm, pulled the clutch cover off, nice, then split the cases, pictures speak for themselves. Bit of a result, i'm one happy camper, so should get it built up this weekend with new seals etc. Onwards and upwards. Andy. Nice one Andy, a great buy. A good clean low mileage bottom end indeed. The clutch basket looks brand new. Gaskets and some seals and you are in business. John

Been a while since i posted on this one, holidays and other stuff got in the way, got the barrels back from Armstrongs on the hill in Newcastle, what a delight seeing nowt has changed since i first went into their shop some 30 years ago! Had to go to 1.50mm o/s from 1.00mm due to a deep score but that's life. Chamfered ports, lovely job, recommended i run semi synth or mineral which i find a bit strange? Other parts arrived for the rebuild from Norbo and Martin at MBD, so just need to get me lazy arse in the garage and crack on! It's been a while Gents since i update this rebuild thread, here we go, she runs, had a mare with the charging system, but was a dud reg/rec, fitted carbs (2x Dtr 125) filters and the billet fanimold! Got me some spannies from Jap4 Performance, had a right chew fitting them because the frame has been widened 20mm for the Ypvs swinger, but sorted now. Re-aligned the rear wheel as it was out 5mm, all good, chain run is spot on. Fitted a Triumph side stand with a bit of faff but looks good. So all i need now is the bodywork back from the painter, seat re-covered and the brakes bled. can't wait to see what it goes like, the barrels are form our very own Mr. Kipling (thanks mate), had them a while and are tuned so i have high hopes for a decent kick up the arse when it gets into the band. Well Gents, it's just about all done bar the shouting, needs a deep clean and a front mudguard adjustment, couple of small snags but easy fixes, runs a treat up the street, had it up to 5k and she's sweet, as with all my builds they are 8 out of 10 as i know i'll be thrashing them around the lanes and Cadwell, not quite as good as Dusty's, Midlife's, Yogi's etc, but she'll do me. Happy with how it's turned out. Andy.
