I am in the market for a modern easy to run mid sized bike mainly for going to work from May to Oct? weather!! using as a daily for erands and like , and a trip to the local bike meets. No interest in going over a ton, just keep up on m/ways and nip past the Audi's on the way to work.
I have narrowed it down to the above, did have the Honda CB650F in also, but its a bit heavier and less torque. Looking at the the specs the Yam 700 twin really has a good wallop of usable torque. Not really into sports bikes , want to sit upright with a least some cushion on the seat.
Was almost set on the MT07 , good feedback and had sit on a few and felt easy, then last week sat on the XSR and felt at ease with that also. just can't decide if I can take to the nose and headlight on the MT, though do look better with a small screen to fill in the gap where the headlight should be! Also not over keen on the day-glo wheels on the newer bikes, and the all black just looks to dull.
Like the reto styling on the XSR apart from the tiny all in one clock. I can see where they are coming from with the thoughts of the cafe build minimal look , but 2 nice reto clocks would be better. Also now swinging me to the XSR is I have seen one in the KR yellow speedblock . I want something to clean and polish, the MT is all satin and plastic. The yellow XSR is on E bay near Chester
Guess both ride almost the same, I know the XSR has a different frame, not sure if you can tell. Really wanted a ride on both, went to CMC at Clay cross last week hoping for a ride, just wanted me to sit on then sign the finace papers, not pleased with customer service.
Anyway been browsing the web all week and seen Wigan Yamaha, anyone go there? Have a good selection of bothand a 2018 black one with 52 miles on i thinking off . I am taking my daughter back to uni at Lancaster on Sunday so may slip in and take look.
Which to go for? Who has either. I can go up to 5k maybe just over see new new are 6.5
Still ride my LC to work the odd time , just like to keep in good order and not get knocked off by some car driver.
Cheers
Alex.
