What do these offer over the standard cdi etc? My 350 ypvs motor is fully standard bar some filters
Any power gains etc?

First thing that comes to mind is that if you buy the correct unit, you can change the powervalve opening times to get a bit more power. You can also change ignition advance, not sure what difference it will make to stock, but may be worth a small amount.

It also replaces the thirty odd year old cdi that were known to be dodgy when new (31k) only down side IMO is having to chop the loom

you can run wires to the original connectors so you dont cut your bike's loom, I do that on mine.

Mines the 31k stuff, so maybe worth buying to get rid of all the old stuff then?

I noticed a better spark once fitted, easier starting. Make sure you use the correct diagram when you fit it, otherwise it wont start.
