Locks were mismatched so picked up an F2 set with the fuel cap missing cheap (using a billet one) so seat locks and helmet holder fitted. Need to swap the wiring over on the ignition switch as the plugs are different Steve

This is going to be another stunner even though you said at the beginning that it was just going to be a "tidy up" - Aye right!

John Lol, Its difficult but there are bits I wouldn't just have bolted onto a "mint" build Engine not painted, just touched up and rad went on as it was. It will still be a really nice bike but will probably just sell after its registered to fund the next project. Found a guy with a GT750 frame with v5, Engine and hubs. Just got to persuade him to part with it π€£ Steve

And finally got the rear light/number plate holder to sit straight. I knew the light bracket was twisted but for the life of me it wouldn't sit right. Turns out the rear frame rail measurement from the spindle was 3mm out between them so rails were twisted A couple of tubes up the rear rails and a 6ft bar soon straightened it out Steve

Looking good Steve I do like the frame colour Dusty Cheers Dusty, on the home straight now thankfully As for the frame colour I'm regretting getting my other frame done black now I've had some wheels done in the same colour which are going on the black frame. It would have been nice all in the titanium Steve

Filled with fluids tonight and primed the oil pump. Only thing stopping me getting it fired up now is pipes. I'd given the chambers a quick rub down and painted black a few weeks ago but the cans were shabby. Both had burnt on stickers that needed soaked over night in DCM to remove and one had a loose end cap and rattled so drilled the rivets out and took apart. The baffle had broken at a weld so got that repaired easy enough. Biggest issue was the holes in the end cap were ovalled so would most likely loosen again. Came up with the idea of bonding m5 washers with silicone on the inside and using 12mm long rivets to go right through and pull it all together. Scotchbrited the cans and repacked them and riveted up then fitted to the pipes. Steve

Got a few jobs done over the last few days Got the 10w bulbs to make the indy's flash. Thought it easier than trying to find another relay that suited Replaced a tail light bulb that was out and drilled the headlight to fit a pilot bulb as the Jap's have none. Also got the pipes fitted. The headers actually have 2 o rings in them that seal onto the stubs. Steve

Nice work there mate. Mines all but done, nowhere near the standard of yours though. Waiting for Yamaha to ring me for the dating letter payment then I'll MOT her and start to get her registered.

Well it lives...
....but rough as f*ck
Carbs overflowed first then drank 700ml of fuel in 10 mins so something way wrong
Choke makes it worse so wayyyy rich
Think the float levels are too high and it's flooding the crank cases as one down pipe has petrol running down it and the tail pipe on the other is very wet
Carbs are a bitch to come off as well
Steve

Cracking job Steve Hopefully it is nothing more than a sticky float valve or as you say float heights which are a piece of p*ss for a man of your caliber Just a pity those carbs are a little tricky to get out All part of the fun

Had them in bits now
Float levels seemed fine at 21mm but I've went to 22 to see how that affects it
I changed the valves and seats and i had to bend the tabs quite a bit to get 21mm. I really should have checked the before reading.
They did stop leaking after tapping the bowls so that point may have caused the flooding. Time will tell
Think I've mastered getting the carbs off now. Removal of the airbox rubbers first let's them come off easier, just the push pull cables are a pain.
After I wasn't finding anything wrong I drilled the brass balls out to check
Steve
