My mk3 125lc is a Swiss import so has the steering lock on the head stock but sadly it never came with the key. Is it possible to buy a key for the lock or remove the barrel and replace with another barrel and key?

Don’t know for sure on 125s but on the 350 Swiss model I used a 4mm drill bit and drilled the barrel at 2 o’clock where the locking pin is located
Good luck Matt

Welding on a couple of tabs and using a traditional UK style ignition lock, could that be an option on this model?
I know it is for the 4LO, yes it's a lot of work but if you plan on stripping the bike at some point???

Thing is the bike would them become a ornament that I wouldn’t use if I stripped it and made it mint. It’s currently 8/10 condition wise and fully on the road so don’t want to do anything major to it ( yet)

Make it the best you can though.

You can buy the locks, I have got some for the LC350, it could well be the same part used, the only way to get the old one out is to drill down the central keyway, don’t go too far, keep the spring that sits behind the barrel too, have a look at the profile of the end piece and the overall length as that will determine what to get as a replacement.
