Beautiful and I’m betting not cheap either. Thanks. Definitely not cheap unfortunately - but a lot less than a NOS OEM tank . Cheers Paul

A bit more progress - just returned from the dyno at Krazy Katt...
Photoshop image for the painter to work with - I decided to go with a Yamaha USA / KR style livery...
Martin at M.E. Motorcycles who has done a massive amount of detail work on the bike recently..
Some detail shots prior to stripping the bike down for anodising, paint and powder coating ....
Martin at M.E. Motorcycles enjoying the moment it first ran after a lot of hard work and preparation....
live.staticflickr.com/video/49107650547/90c49bfced/1080p.mp4?s=eyJpIjo0OTEwNzY1MDU0NywiZSI6MTU3NDQ3NDg4MCwicyI6IjNhZWVlYWNlYjJkY2NiYThmYTNkYWVjM2ZiYTc2NDc0MjIyY2QzNDEiLCJ2IjoxfQ
Ohlins forks, Brembo calipers and discs, JL GP pipes, NK Racing silencers, NK footrest hangers, NK yokes, Zeeltronic CDI and YPVS controller, Chris Ambler Racing tank, King Carbon bodywork from my modified OWD3 YZR500 fairings - R6 2CO swingarm - R6 2CO wheels - Harris pegs and gear/rear brake levers - Brembo front master cylinder - Brembo clutch lever, Brembo rear master cylinder, Mikuni VM28 flatslide carbs , SPA tacho and temperature gauge, Dyno work by Krazy Katt , electrics and build and LOTS of detail work, including dozens of brackets ,radiator design, sub frames , brake lines, clutch cables, frame bracing, etc. by Martin at M.E. Motorcycles who bought all the components together and made them work - a lot easier said than done!
The bike weighs 150kg dry - 170kg with half a tank of fuel wet.
Suspension is now with Maxton and the many parts are with painters, powder coaters and anodisers - so sadly it will be many weeks before the bike goes back together for completion.
PS:- Electrics are temporary to prove everything works - they'll be tidied up
Cheers Paul

That is absolutely stunning. Is it how you pictured it? Hi, Pretty much - I would have preferred a brushed bare alloy finish on the frame and swingarm, but it was looking doubtful if that would have worked due to the welding attaching brackets and extra frame bracing. Cheers Paul

Great looking bike but I would stick with the original red/white paint job, not the yellow.
Just my opinion though!

Very nice indeed, top draw. Why did you change from the 34's to the 28's. Over carbed?
Mark.

Hi Mark - the 34’s were physically too big and didn’t fit the rubber inlets very well - they also snagged each other and the engine - We also thought that it might well be over-carbed for the engines state of tune Cheers Paul

That looks absolutely awesome The black frame and swinger look much better than silver I think, especially with the KR paint scheme. I'm not usually a fan of 500's but I love this one ! All credit to you on a beautiful build Dusty

Real neat job, there
you could do another Silver Dream racer aka David Essex
I do like the UK colour schemes, the speed blocks to me aren't interesting enough
The Australian F1 has speed blocks, however my one is painted the RWB of the british colours, thanks to bertiemollie for those fairings and tank
Its your project and you do it what ever way you like
I love how the panels fit exactly where you want them and the lines of the bike, it'll be better than any 500 out there,
There is someone in Adelaide? Australia doing one too, he's doing something similar, can't find the thread though

Thanks for the kind words everyone.
Hopefully the bike will be finished by the weekend - so with any luck I’ll post up some final pics in the next few days.
Cheers Paul
