I started this Mid August, Picked it up locally, Rough as f***. But it runs, and runs well, Basically going to replace every nut, bolt, Rebuild the engine, New crank, pistons, all new seals, bearings etc. All new powdercoat, paint etc, Norbo sent me a 14/15KG box of parts. Sourced a bunch of parts locally and in Japan. Engine will get all the ports cleaned up, Tyga exhausts and I am on the fence with which carbs to run, Stock or a set of 30s I had on my of my other 350s.

all metal has been picked up from the powdercoaters, Looks absolutely fantastic, Waiting on the crank and cylinders which are on the way, Then its time to get it all together. Ill build the motor and do the squish and send the head out for correction, The LC has a very, very safe squish, Lets tighten it up and take away some of that reliability

Regarding the vapour blasting, how do you stop the blasting media getting into the air ways etc in the carbs? I've never done carbs for that reason.

Phil I just strip the carbs out, He blasts them and cleans them and Then I just blow them out, They were spotless when I got them back. No probs so far

Jon I'd like to know more about that circuit in general, to see an exploded diagram of a carb and the part it plays would be nice. Has someone replaced those brass balls with a threaded fastener, something that's easy to remove/replace or have I dreamt that.

You have to be careful with vapour blasting carbs. When I had my last 400, I sent the carbs to a well known fella down south who did lots of them. Came back afterwards looking brand new, but there was a tiny bit of blasting slurry in the bowls. I investigated further, and on pushing out the emulsion tubes, found them to be full of blasting media !! I would have expected them to be blasted after being stripped, but not in this case. If I was doing it again they would be going to Muttsnuts. Dusty
