A pair? I need one lol! But always keen on Allspeeds. Need some for the latest project! I did some searching and Fowlers have the screw on collar for the exhaust in stock (£11, not bad) so I'll get one of those and try that on summat I guess lol Alex

It has! Mercedes silver metallic then some purple the name I can't recall at the mo with a pearl finish. Awaiting some decal making equipment and then I will do the tank. It needs to cure for a while though.

You can make the photos show straight up if you use the insert image button at the top of the posting window and then paste in the address. The little purple thing is looking good :-) The centre stand appears to suffer the same fate as the LCs. May need to weld some washers on the stand or you may have to twist and reweld the bottom tube where the centre stand mounts.

Thanks everyone. Next time I'll try that pic idea! The centre stand will be binned eventually, I'm going to use any old side stand and get a bracket welded on the frame. The mounting there at the moment is totally FUGAZI.

Just tried adding a pic from the A/C forum as usual. It says insert Image, I have a choice of 2 boxes, Image URL or Alt text whatever the hell either means. Tried both. I just get a load of text instead of the pic. Computers are not my strongest point lol.

The line you have put in from the Aircooled forum is what you put in the insert image box. Please note that the "Insert Image" and other buttons are not available in the quick reply option. You need to click the big Reply button to get the extra options! e.g. www.aircooledrdclub.com/smf/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=56733.0;attach=81841;imageYou would click the Insert Picture button then put the above text into that and you end up with this :-

Brilliant it works! PICS!! A set of small can Allspeeds. They are both missing the little exhaust tip bit but I'm sure eBay will have something, failing that Allspeed themselves. OK they are a tad rusty but I have already started to clean the right hand one up and it will look great when it's done. These will eventually go on another project but for now I want to use one on the Popsicle. I remember yonks ago a mate had an A/C RD250 Alspeed or Micron on his little RS100 and that ran great with it on. It will take a bit of doing as my RD has the screw on type clamp but I'm sure I can get it to fit. I gave up with the kickstart I got from China...and wondered if a Kawasaki G5 one would fit. Yes, yes it does lol. Then the chain...it's an LC one and a 530 so whilst it fits the rear sprocket just fine the front one is too close to the engine for it to go on. After a consultation with Dr Miller the conclusion was a YPVS one is 520 so should do the trick. But after some measuring the inner diameter of a PV one is too big to go on my RD. OK then I will make a little spacer...can I get that nut off? Can I buggery. I got the engine in gear but the sprocket and generator both still turn when I try to undo it. Going to have to rig up some kind of jamming device but I don't want to damage anything! Might be tricky but I'll work it out! Alex

Can you use the 530 chain fitted temporarily and hold the back brake on while you undo the nut? Or borrow an impact gun. I got a cheap 12V one that clips on a battery.

What size is the sprocket nut Alex ? Is it the same as an Lc ? Dusty

If you need to cut it off which may be your last resort, I probably have a spare. Dusty

Think it's a 22mm. I will check later. Alas the rear brake is not hooked up to anything but I could try cable tying the thing on! Might give me some leverage...

Put chain on and a broom/scaffold bar through the back wheel..... I was going to suggest a piece of 2x2 through the back wheel but thought it would make me sound a bit rough. Glad there's somebody else with the same thought.

Put chain on and a broom/scaffold bar through the back wheel..... I did similar with a slipper clutch on a ktm single chain on and 24" pry bar between the very expensive aftermarket rear wheel and swing arm did the job tho

If I could get the chain on I wouldn't need to take the front sprocket off lol.

Without panels for me - and as you have minimal electrics you don't need to hide anything behind panels. I like the open look of the frame - very "café racer" !! Dusty

Kinda agree now Dusty. Been sitting on the sofa looking at the old girl and once I get that coil painted it will look a lot better!
Cheers Toby, and that's now given me another idea lol!

Can't shift that nut. Tried wedging things in the genny but I'm scared I'll damage something. Cable ties (HD ones) just snap. Hmm. So...the exhaust. I've seen a lot worse (I have those lol) and a lot better but there are no holes anywhere and that's the main thing. I was going to fill the dents with chemical metal, or even plain car filler as it does actually work...sometimes...but this episode of Well 'Ard (the A/C forum magazine) came to my rescue. Reading about getting dents out of pipes I'm going to try the 'fill with water and freeze' method. Just need to find someone with a chest freezer now... I also fashioned some home made heated grips. Surprisingly easy to do... Alex

Coming on great Alex.
Reminds me of a YDS7 that me and some mates "rebuilt" years ago. We spent months on it and painted it a very similar purple colour too.
Good to see you are still having a bit of fun in the garage too lol
