Sorry there not the wiseco brand but the same as in material and size. Wiseco recently hiked the price up from £25 to £52 !! Norbo's are there if click on the trick parts on either LC or YPVS next to the baskets. Used them my self and are spot on. Mark. Thanks for the info Mark 👍🏻👍🏻

Just got my parcel from Yambits including clutch dampers, but looking at the state of the rubbers that came out of the clutch it seems they take a lot of stress so i think i rather going to buy a set from Norbo.
A curious things about the rubbers i removed - some diameters measured 20.5mm and some 18.5mm.

Good move Norbos and others are all the same larger diameter which takes free movement out, Less snatch.

Hi I've done the Mitaka basket on both Pv and Lc clutches. The Lc dampers were "D" shaped and all the same size. The Pv had a small and large damper in each pair, so you may have Pv dampers/clutch parts fitted maybe. And some baskets do get riveted back together rather than screwed so it may have been apart before anyway.

Dusty Hi Dusty, Yes you propably right on it being opened before based on the different sized round rubbers. My gasket is also not complete - just has the inner ring and one of the legs. Complete outer ring piece is MIA. Have not seen that part listed on Yambits or Norbo's page so i hope Yamaha still has it.

The parts list doesn't show that gasket, just the o-ring. The boss is listed as a single item........
EDIT: Sorry, not the boss (which is another separate item); I meant the primary driven gear.

Yep, the main clutch basket and primary gear are listed as one part. The main basket on a powervalve has a 31k part number, and differs to a 350 Lc which has a 4l0 part number. The primary gear on the end of the crankshaft shares the same part number between Lc and Pv though, so is the same component. I wonder if someone has fitted a complete Pv basket to your engine ?

Hi sorry to hi-jack this thread, do you tap the steel plate and use countersunk screw or tap the basket and use flat head bolts from the steel plate side? Cheers

Hi If you buy the Mitaka basket it comes with 4 screws/bolts that fit into the threaded bosses on the back of the billet basket. I always use thread lock too. Nice and simple repair once it's apart. Dusty

Hi Not all Yambits parts are bad. Dusty If only us newbies especially knew which ones were good or bad. I bought a set of standard clutch springs off them and a set of ebc heavy duty springs with the idea of using 3 ebc heavy duty and 3 standard.. the standard springs from yambits were thicker and stronger than the ebc ones, clearly no were near standard spec.. I decided then not to buy anything else from them ever! Didn’t return the parts as couldn’t be bothered for £12

Hi If it's only the rubbers you are changing then getting some rivets are probably your best bet. Not sure of the size and Yamaha obviously don't list them for the basket as it's not a service item. The design of the Yam basket is for rivets whereas the Mitaka is threaded for bolts. Dusty

No problem in getting the basket threaded, so will locate matching bolts, have a good industrial fasteners place local that will have something to suit.

So my hand was forced a bit as the bike had to go for roadworthy (think you guys call it MOT) so I decided to reassemble the clutch and the bike temporarily with the parts I received. Some observations - It is very easy to fit the Matika and the Yambits rubbers fitted nice and tight. I put in the damper rings, but it bulked up the clutch too much and when I tightened the plate bolts the clutch rotated too easily which I did not like so out they came. Put in the standard friction plates from Yambits with the original steel plates and all was good. Then put on the "heavy duty" clutch springs, but found these two stiff when pulling the clutch lever so they too were discarded and the original springs went back temporarily. The clutch pull is now feather light - no more cltuch cable snapping. What I was pretty unhappy about is the clutch cover gasket i received - a bright orange instead of the advertised black one on their site and it looks out of place on the bike, but I had no choice so in it went. The bike passed its roadworthy test so I will keep it as is for now until the YPVS build is finished and then I will rebuild the engine with all new seals and gaskets. Better to have one running and one non-running bike than two non-running bikes

I suspect that these heavy duty springs were put in my bike, like you say, lever is a bit too hard to pull for my liking. Did this bike ever warrant stronger springs, even in a tuned state?
Anyone got a new set of standard springs they don't want?

Yes stringer springs do help with more power, but you can also use FZ600 frictions to help that too. After that youre pretty much into serious clutch work and more power will show up a weak clutch.
Measure the free length of your OEM springs, I bet they will be under length... they are pretty weak. New ones are cheap tho from Yam and can help an ailing clutch.
