Even if the nut were loose, it may stay on the splines? A 3mm offset front sprocket does not sound enough for a 160, I’d expect 9mm. With the chain off clamp a straight edge to the front and rear of the sprocket and see if it aligns with the front sprocket. Jon Thanks for the comments but trust me we’ve done everything to the book. Have you seen our riddler build? Interesting conversation, I have a project with enough offset for a 180 possibly 190 width tyre and i have around 30mm offset +-5mm. i will measure it when i get the chance if it helps anyone.

I can’t understand there would be enough variation in the dimensions of the standard frame (around 201mm from measurements) to make this possible?
Sure you can angle the chain to clear the frame and tyre, as the tyre is not at exactly the same distance as the swingarm pivot.
I will draw a CAD drawing tomorrow to show what I mean.

Mine are ypvs hybrids,I have always run 160/60x17 rears&120/70x17 fronts. I run d.i.d X-ring chains. Can’t remember what off-set front sprocket I have on them. I have the same clearances frame side as tyre side. No sign of chain touching at all. I built a LC hybrid a few years ago and ran that with a 160/60x17 rear, ypvs engine and again no problem, close but ok. Sold it to a forum member(rwebster)I think. You can get a narrow 520 x-ring chain. DID 520 VT2 x-ring,they narrower than std. Also not all 160/60 tyres are the same overall width. I run Michelin pilot power 2ct.

So cases have gone to Dave, time to get stuck back in! Not sure whether to make adaptors for the existing mounts or cut the mounts off and just weld new 1’s up.

Coming on great. From what is going on here you definitely "don't do normal"
Brilliant bit of fabrication and will result in an absolute stunner.
Maybe one of those "special" massages will help your back and get you back on the build pronto. Hope for a quick recovery bud

Wow, those pipes look fantastic This is gonna be a stunning special. Sorry to hear about your back. Find yourself a good Osteopath - sooner rather than later. Don't rely on the NHS pain clinics, which is where I ended up. A few sessions with an Osteo will see you back on your feet far sooner. Good luck. Dusty
