Need a partner for The Riddler, so here we go. Twin shock LC with 421 going in. Not sure I’ll keep the 3 spokes, front and rear off GSXR400. Had a few visions, hopefully the Riddler will be a bit tame compared to this! Please don’t tell me a twin shock LC has been done before?

Wow, fair bit of work then. Still, it looks really good in there and would look awesome with a pair of piggybacks Dusty

Russ I will be watching this, if it is half as cool as your marmite x7 I will be impressed. Colour scheme in mind? I have always wanted to build a flat track LC with twin shocks so this will be interesting

Won't those shocks be a tad on the firm side?

I like the idea, thinking outside the box. I reckon it will look spot on,if it as well done as your last build👍 I just finished a hybrid based on ypvs frame, fitted with 350 air cooled engine,szr660 arm with aprilia forks/ wheels,tzr125 4DL tank with single seat. Featured in next issue of “air cooled magazine “

That's good to know, have thought about putting the arm in a ypvs before, won't be as much off for that 5mm off the carrier makes it the same as rgv offset so just an off set front Either that or 400 bandit carrier is already 5mm less Great project Steve

My pals front sprocket is 10mm offset but his is an LC engine, until I get my bottom end this week we won’t know what the chain run will be like. The cases here hasn’t got the gearbox in to try.

Think there is plenty of meat on them
If you check parts lists to see if they use the same sprocket bolts that will tell you if they have the same meat in them
From memory the gsxr one has plenty to remove
The gsxr carrier offset allows for a 160 tyre but that means the chain hits the frame
5mm off or bandit carrier allows a 150
I run a 140 on a bandit 400 wheel (4 inch)
The gs500 carrier also fits but only allows a 130 tyre as -5mm again
Steve

I like the 160 idea and don’t mind notching the frame if needs be. See what tickles my fancy once I’ve got the bottom end I’m picking up this week.

Sorry russpuss my translation was wrong. I spoke to him and its just two offset sprockets and no mod to the frame. If you want a link to the ad just pm me.

I quite like the idea of this, not cos I like twin shocks as such, but because this will free up teh space where the shock is on an LC for some decent breathing for the carbs. I really struggled with this on my 421LC with the shock in place and have never been happy that Iv done what the bike really needs air wise.

I just like the idea of different, I like hybrids but can’t go with the norm, I like to standout a bit. Not sure what it will handle like but hey ho.

Hopefully got some engine mounts and an LC spindle on the way so that we can tighten it all up and sort the chain run. Ken has machined the rear sprocket carrier down 5mm as I couldn’t fit it in my lathe.

these just arrived courtesy of Mutts, cheers Dave. Hopefully this will arrive next week and then the fun can start sorting the chain run and getting the arm welded up for the twin shock conversion.
