Had to cancel 2 days of work due to the snow, now I am due to drive up to York so I am hoping it isn't that bad.

About 6" here in Lincoln. A46 shut due to jack-knifed artics. village pretty much cut off, co-op shop looks like a scene from a zombie movie, panic buying is the name of the game it seems.

I’m near Market Rasen.... just the same here, you’d think the world was about to end..!..drivers panicking...roads blocked with vehicles stuck..... especially if you have to travel along a road with any amount of gradient...and they say Lincolnshire is flat..... maybe its just rubbish drivers....? Or under funded highways dept not keeping the roads clear...

I know of at least 6 people in my street who tried to drive into work but couldn't, roads were just blocked with stationary cars, I sat for half an hour on a 'by pass', a van a few cars behind me then decided to do a U turn and got stuck so blocked up the whole road basically. I heard that some drivers were stuck for many hours on a section of the A1 Stamford/Peterborough area so I could have had it worse.

While I was failing to get my car out of either entrance to my street there was a taxi driver frantically trying to get out after dropping a hire off, he had no chance Your boss has a duty of care. A minor bump and sue the git for whiplash wheres there a blame and all that Also the risk of getting stuck miles from home Steve

Its not snow but almost as bad, Broome, one of our towns in the Kimberly has received 1.2 metres of rain in 3 weeks, they are 50 mm short of their yearly average with another month of cyclone season to go
Its weird this weather, you guys getting a few feet of snow and us getting 5 foot of water
Rivers that haven't flowed in over 10 years have now flowed twice in a month

On my second snow day
Was going to stick the knobbly shod wheels back on the tsx with the excuse I needed to go the mile down the road to Tesco
Hopes dashed, you know it's bad when Tesco stays shut
This morning is even doing a report on the drivers stuck for 16 hours on the dual carriageway that goes past my house
Wife's told me not to be so daft. "You'll kill yourself out ther"
Wait till the wine runs out...

Reminds me of 2010, we lived in a cul-de-sac on a steep hill so the whole street was off work. All the blokes decided to have BBQ and drink all day, fantastic!!

I tell a lie, I got out on the middle Monday, got 2 miles then got stuck for 5 hours

Got into work this morning, Brize Norton from Gloucester. started snowing about 7.30am . Our boss man phones our manager about various issues and mentions about the weather . The manager tells him to start getting the chaps off starting with the blokes who live a distance away . so that's myself and a chap who lives in Swindon away for 9.15. Lots of snow now in Gloucester .Had a phone call from my boss and he told me my work colleague had an accident on the way home. He is ok but shook up. So our manager has put the word out to our department to have Friday off . So that's nice , we have enough wood/logs and when I got home we nipped out to get some bags of smokeless coal .The burner has been on now for 7 days. Not blazing ,just ticking over.
