I was wondering if somewhere on this vast internetty thing there was a guide with measurements for where the decals go on the N1? I took copious photos and measurements of the tank prior to having it stripped but as it had been previously painted many years ago I cant be sure that they were faithful to the original.

Thanks Guys, I will check my photos against the ones on here and on the site but I think the measurements I did are within mm's of every other one I can see. No just have to sort the colours out

The tinware on my white '85N is all original yamaha paint. As such, the decals and positions are likely to be where the factory wanted them to be.. You can also check Xavier's site, www.rd350lc.net and have a look at the brochures.. There are pics of mine in the finished bikes section. Reg

Be aware that many of the aftermarket tail section decals for the N1 are the wrong size and shape and will never fit where the factory intended them to fit. Steve (Midlifecrisisrd) had some made that were as good as the original after I sent him an original tailpiece. It's worth checking with him where he got them made..
It's only a problem if you want originality..

Mine certainly fit too low compared to the original decals

As the guys have said I did an "as new" n1 build which is here rdlccrazy.proboards.com/thread/29425/n1-bringing-back-deadThe tail decal was initially wrong so a copy was made from an original panel that Reggie kindly loaned me. I got them done at the image works Also worth noting that the pin stripe is not black but a really dark burgundy. I also got them to make then one piece and laminated exactly like the originals so the tail and sides were not clear coated Only that way as it was to be an "original spec" build All my other bikes are clear coated over Steve
