It's alive, vibrant and up to date....
I've just had to PAY to join the Suzuki Owners Club forum as I'm after some parts..... It's dead... I was the only member online and the latest answers to most posts were from 2017 or even 2016..!
We're really lucky that we have this resource and the people on it.....

My experience of forums other than this one is bad.
For whatever reason this one is different.
Maybe it’s because the people on here have a genuine lifetime passion for RD’s?
Anyway whatever the reason, I’m happy to be a part of it.

Tis true, I still pop onto forums for bikes I used to ride, and no one is on them, drz forum is dead and such a shame, but this place always has new postings the several times a day I log in, lots of things going on, and always friendly advice and help, its a refreshing change and long may it continue

I agree, very very vibrant compared to so many others and everyone is helpful. Thanks to everyone for making this work how forums should.

Agree. Every hour there is an update and always something interesting to read. Members are polite and respectful, generally, and always welcoming and willing to help. I joined the Aircooled forum, which is okay and posts are relevant and upto date. Alternatively the FS1E forum, dead. No one replies to an introduction and as said further up the thread, what's the point of having an introduction. All in all this is a well administered and an informative forum. Number 1!!

Since it is a two stroke forum, we are allowed to blow smoke up our own exhausts......

I too belong to a few, most mechanical ideas on here are spelt out in plain language for people to understand
I'm defo not a mechanic and other sites leave me scratching my head as to what they are talking about
Not that there is anything wrong with that, however this one is a lot more user friendly
There are still tekky type people here, you only need to look at the rebuilds section to see that, however the explanationations are so much easier to understand

I love this forum i only get a bit niggled sometimes when i see members asking high prices for parts. I would never complain about what they ask but it is mentally noted and i would not sell anything to that member. Hi Mr Blair if you are refering to my thread i do try to explain things as best i can to keep it simple. Although i did think maybe drive and driven gear could be too much for some people.

As above all so true, think I might like the old strokers a bit too much sometimes.

Agree with all the comments, great bunch of lads and even when people don't agree rarely does it descend into keyboard warriors shite unlike other forums I have been on. I genuinely enjoy the site and the content and tbh I am surprised Mr N has never charged for access. Tbh though when you live in a mansion and have tens of strokers in the bank account I guess you can afford not to.

This is easily my favourite site. On a few other sites but this one is always packed with information and some fantastic builds. And seeing as the original LC was only made from 80-82, with the other models having an equally short life span it's astounding how many of us have them!

I think its down to the popularity of the bike, im on the KR , RD500 and some other forums, they are so much quieter than this one, which has got even busier of recent years, the cult of the LC burns brighter than ever!

I personally think the powers that be have bigger fish to fry.
I’ve done around 500 miles a year on my LC stoker.
Put into context USA lawns mowed by mowers without a CAT it’s negligable.
The very fact there are no mainstream strokers being produced compared to lawnmowers is an area to keep an eye on.
Plus the fact I’ve/others have invested £1000s/10 of £1000s of pounds in projects will cause an uproar! Far better IMO to let us old smokers phase themselves out.

Bikes will die eventually, either that or the owner's will, after us lot I cant see the next generation having the same enthusiasm for them, natural wastage is the term .

It is a great forum, it has helped me with problems doing my hybrid project & kept me entertained for a long while. What I think would help improve it is somewhere to show what country/county you live in to help to know other members nearby

Hey rigga, im trying to get my young lad interested in the LC now, hes 10 and ive asked him what colour hoses he wants putting on it for when its his to ride. Id like to see him spending time learning a bit spannering instead of just x-box and I-pad.

Id like to see him spending time learning a bit spannering instead of just x-box and I-pad. I'm planning on getting my 350N MOTd and putting it up for sale come spring time. When I said this to my 17 year old grandson Owen he had a sulk because he was hoping he could have it once he got his licence. Get them interested in bikes early enough and they will keep that in them for the rest of their lives

I don't think the Elsie thing will ever go away. Look at bikes like Vincents and the like, the original owners are all long gone yet the bikes command very high prices and are sought after. OK they are really for collectors only but they were never mass produced unlike our bikes, so there are a lot of LCs out there and I can't see why any more will fully die. My godson loves my LC and his face lit up when I said I'll leave it to you in my will. His reply was 'so when is it mine then?'. Bless him, he's only 11 Alex

It heartens me to see all the replies and I genuinely look forward to logging on in the morning.. I've been on other forums where people are so fast to rip into each other and I think they show a similar character in real life. Some people seem to think they have to act a certain way when riding a certain bike whereas every person I've met on LC or YPVS has been interested, interesting and approachable in equal measure. There have been a few exceptions but the number is very small...
Sadly, There are some bikes and riders that I absolutely avoid as experience has shown me that I just won't get on with them.. Occasionally I relent but am always proven right to avoid in the first place...
Interestingly, the only forums that have come close to this one are the Bemsee racing and RC30 forums..
I'm hanging on to all my bikes till the end... I want to be the cranky 80 year old at a circuit somewhere with a YPVS and an RC30 to play with..
