Had this bike since 89 and used to blatt all over with it in the 90s until it introduced me to the railings at Hyde Park Corner one night. Managed to get to work on it last year and nearly finished it but got bogged down with some annoying bits that I hope some on here might be able to help with. I've got the original clocks but at some point after one crash or another, i bent the handlebars and opted to use clip-ons which seem to have needed me to cut the top off the headlight/clock mount. Anyone know where to get some N1 handlebars from? not had much luck looking online so far. Also, after it being stripped down for so long, I can no longer find the red/green/amber/blue clock mount lenses and can't really see how i'll get hold of these now. I bought a lot of stuff from Yambits last year, most of which seemed pretty good except for the throttle cable which is poor and needed grinding to get it to sit in the oil pump recess correctly. do they still do the original cables? lastly for now, I can't get the carbs to stop flooding - used the kit from yambits then got the genuine float valves & pins from Fowlers but still no luck. If anyone has tips or can recommend a supplier that'll do a decent overhaul, i might shell out to get them properly cleaned and setup. some pics below (hopefully) with a couple of the current yoke / handlebar lash up and the old bits of the headlight / clock mount i found in the odds&sods box!

Hi
Nice to hear of a bike owned so long and getting brought back to glory
The n1 bars are the same as n2 f2 and r models so do come up on eBay
As for the carbs as well as the needles did you change the o rings on the seats
If you are stuck you can send them to member muttsnuts who will check, clean and set them up
The clock lenses are a pain, I accumulated some building clocks for specials but not got any green or amber ones now
Early fzr models had the same top plate so you may have to buy a rough set of clocks to rob the lenses

Hi Mistergee..
I'll have a rummage and see if I've got any bars going spare but to be fair the ones on eBay that Steve has linked too are a fair price for straight bars..
I don't think the powder coat is brilliant but it may just be the photo..... Make the seller an offer, no harm to.. Whereabouts are you based..?? Is the reg of the bike B981MFG by any chance..?
Cheers Reg..

Thanks so far all, see some stuff on ebay for crazy prices so good to know what is reasonable. am in Somerset so will be at the shepton mallet show in early Feb. bike i have now is C462DAH & came from Essex I think. used to have a lovely LC2 with chromed original pipes back in 86 but that got nicked (& turned up later in a showroom in Catford) from the side of a roundabout after another off and visit to local A&E.

Thanks midlifecrisisrd & Reg - made an offer on the handlebars which was accepted so hopefully this'll kickstart the project again. I got some pics of the headlight/clock mount at the lc club stand at shepton mallet last year so with the part mount i have i might be able to fabricate something reasonable and hide it with black satin!

Whereabouts are you..?
I have a couple of NOS headlight/clock mounts that you can measure against if you would like to..? I won't trust them to the post though, not after recent experiences....

also, i had down that the float heights needed to be 21mm but looking at Haynes manual, it says the carbs are vm26 and from the Mikuni manual the height should be 15-17mm which might explain my flooding issue. these would be standard carbs so would they be vm26's?

Carb problems related to the dreaded Y*mbits parts? Use Norbo.
