Hi there I'm restoring a mk three 125 lc it doesn't have matching numbers if I do sell after its complete I decided to sell it is it going to depreciate the value as the numbers don't match but the bike will be excellent condition regards

You will probably never make your money back as the price of restoring the bike will always out way the price of the finished bike especially the stupid prices you have to pay for parts these days. People seem prepared to pay stupid prices for some parts on ebay, a micron exhaust sold recently for nearly £500 and an allspeed for £385, I only paid £700 for a complete bike 18 month ago.

Personally I don't really get the whole number matching thing, they don't make any difference to riding/the enjoyment of the bike, surely that's what's it about at the end of the day?? Only spend time restoring a vehicle if that's something that you enjoy doing, then enjoy using it on the roads afterwards.

I have to admit I'm enjoying it and the satisfaction it's been off the road for at least fifthteen years and more , I had one back in the day and was the best days of my life

I saw them on eBay and was blown away buy the price of them luckily the bike l bought had a nearly new micron on it but like you say every genuine part is sky high price but I'm too far gone to go back and it's all about having the buss happy riding
