Ok so hows this for an Idea . Feel free to tell me its daft if you like i dont mined .
I was thinking LC top trumps
30 cards in a pace
5 category's each with a value below based on a mint standard 250lc
Performance 55 out of 100 Originality 98 out of 100 Months to build 8 technically interesting 1 out of 10 being standard its not got anything technically interesting CC 250
435 Hybred
Performance 90 Originality 2 out of 100 Months to build 7 technically interesting 10 out of 10 being a hybrd with carbon wheel anand b435 its got loads technically interesting CC 435
so you get the idea
so if you think its a good idea ill need good bike pics and an idea on what category's and values we could have
Do the bikes all need to be specials or standard as well . all 2 stokes or just lc/ypvs .
I was all so thinking about playing cards as well normal poker size 52 card playing cards but with like a 2 stripe blue lc for the 10 Hearts that kind of thing .

Norbo, I think they all need to be RDs (ie LC or YPVS)
What about having ‘originality’ as one of the categories as a number. That way a player with a card with a bog standard LC could call that category.
Presently it would seem the cards are stacked (sic) against the standard bikes.
p.s. I think time to build is subjective. In trumps the highest number wins. In reality a build that takes less time is more impressive and desired by the builder.

some one just said that on the face book group and i think its an excellent idea so a super special with like 535cc and 110 BHP can all so be a looser. the same type old special would all so be a looer on time to build if it took 2 years to build the good cards need as much to make them bad as good if you see what i mean

For those of us who ain't really up on the standard versions, Original facts/figures on factory models would be nice. Those would help me appreciate/understand how far a special has been taken.

or so we replace special factor with originality so the more special the bike is the lower the number, based on wheels seat unit engine clocks etc ill work it out 100 being completely stock of course so what about t he others what do we keep what do we replace /

Normal rules say the higher number is the winner. Time to build is an odd one as in my eyes the higher the number the worse. What about replacing it with ‘value’ as 1-10? That way your also evening out the odds for a standard build potentially. Say a proper full on standard resto or a super trick Hybrid is 10, but a nice LC could still be more than a tatty tuned/modified bike. Also CC and BHP go very much hand in hand. Jon

Norbs, That’s a brilliant idea mate!, if my bike is featured, whoever has that card will p**s the time to build category, it’s been dragging on since 2001 😁👍🏻!.
Good luck with it.

And "specials" are never really finished !! Good idea though. I would hope to get Yamark's triple in my "hand". You'd win everything with that !! Dusty

Oh and I know it’s too late for this year, but what about an LC related wall calendar?, maybe include the Stafford shows and other bike related meets? - just a thought.

Jon well you can't put a value on a bike as divorces would ensue, but a rating from 1 to 10 may be good as you say may be instead of BHP as like me i have no idea on any of my bikes I have adjusted it and we will see if any more ides come up , I thinks its a goa for a bit of fun , we will sort this stuff out first then ill need 30 bikes for the cards I was thinking may be do 2 1 set for LC and YPVS and Air cooled RD as they are part of the family . and 1 for 2 strokes in general with some lc and ypvs in that as well but open to other makes and models .

That’s a good thing to replace, as as I said BHP and CC are very closely linked anyway.

That would be awesome Norbo, I can supply an LC and a rare 400G if needed.
I already know what I want for next Xmas! 😜

They just need to be in two separate catagoies so if you have a mint matching that can trump a mid hybrid. yet if you had an Uber hybrid gushing machine you can also trump out anything if you call that category. Value is parity for both etc etc.

Id open it up to 2 strokes in general, from the 70s to the 90s, limiting it to LCs would perhaps make it too easy with 2 LC anoraks knowing pretty much everything about the bikes!
As well as all the great suggestions above, you could also consider date of launch, number of cylinders, top speed, bhp, handling, weight , make it a little more difficult to "beat" the cards.
Id buy such a set anyway!

i can only do 5 date numvber of cylinders well er 2 will be the same for every one is we do lc. ypvs and A/C R/D Top peed is good as thats different for most cards handling would be good people dont know what there bikes weigh i dont
pete your correct a mint standard bike would trump a super trick bike as it would be a 9 pr 10 and on original the hybrid would be a 1 or 2 the more special it is the smaller the number but the hybrid would trump the original on technically interesting as standard would be only a 1 as nothing interesting about a stoker and a hybrid would be higher as some lave lock ups on 421's ect the more thats done the more interesting and the better the number .
I think the months to build and value ones would be the 2 to change if any better suggestions come up if we choos any i think the rest are looking good . I think performance would be a good one may be i could take bhp and top speed in to consideration and just rate them 1 to 50as some hybreds lke my ones are standard so look souper cool and have loads of trick stuff on them but no faster then a standard bike with pipes and carbs fitted so not all hybreds would have good numbers on performance . Well its the still the first day so by next week we should have this part sorted and then just need to start on the bikes.
As i said copper i think ill do 2 1 lc/ypvs andf Ac and 1 all 2 strokes i think we can get 30 bikes lc ypvs and a/c no problem and 30 for 2 strokes . makes it more fun we could do cylinders on that one

Would a category of 'desirability' be any good? Although some find an original more desirable than a hybrid and vice versa? Also some find AC more desirable than LC. Maybe not a good category after all. Like the idea Norbo and the response it has provided.

I like how you give an idea then soot it down in the same sentance LOL But i think your right whats deliverable to me is not to some one who like stockers
I have replaced Value for performance people always like to see performance dont they on a card

You dont see 0-60 figures quoted that often for bikes, qtr mile times of top end would be better OR bhp per litre, a 125 could out perform a 500 measured on that scale.

I dont think cost to build as it may upset some wives that have no idea what was spent on the bike . i was thinking performance would be on a scale of 1 to 100 the more powerfull and better top end the biger number the more standard the lower .

Norbo Lea Ok so this is the line up if we can get 6 ill put in the cool factor id not it will end at cc Power will be ether BHP or MPH depending on people give me ill go with what most people have the info to most likely MPH as not every one has there bike on dyno . But you can make a good guess based on Top speed and a standard set up and mods made if we have to .
So if no one has anything better to go with this will be the set up .
Power originality Months for original build Technically interesting CC Cool factor

Not sure months to build is a universal category for everyone, as some may not know this information for their bikes? I would suggest replacing that category with top speed perhaps.
