That welding looks great Looking forward to your progress Mark Dusty It's a slow burning project dusty but i can't wait to get it into paint/powder... The Mrs keeps asking why i have more and more bike parts accumulating in the dining room.

It's been a while since I last posted on my build thread as i took my frame off to a friend for some welding work, I'm happy to say it was picked up and a quick install of the front and rear ends, engine cases before it was sent off for checking at Motorliner in Essex.. Fingers crossed it will be back in a week or two.. IMG_2863 by mark morgan, on Flickr My other photos won't upload for some reason but will take more when the frame is back. One final dry build then off for powder or paint..

Since getting the frame back from Motorliner in essex a couple of weeks ago I've not had much time to working on the bike but have now managed a few hours to do a "final" mock up and try and sort out the Spacing between the bottom of the engine and the side stand section on the frame, The Gap was very tight and had probably moved during all the welding or jigging to get the head stock aligned correctly as it was over a couple of mm to the right (while sitting on the bike) I have finished the Faux Carbon Seat under tray, Originally i was going to try my hand at making a carbon unit but as i had a lot of hassle with the moud i use Glass Fibre instead and have now covered it with a Fake semi gloss carbon covering. Apart from the Odd wrinkle I think i looks good.. Wrinkles are in areas that are covered anyway.... Before covering IMG_3298 by mark morgan, on Flickr After IMG_3304 by mark morgan, on Flickr Close up of the Material IMG_3303 by mark morgan, on Flickr Fitted IMG_3311 by mark morgan, on Flickr IMG_3310 by mark morgan, on Flickr The fittings are going to change for some black anodized items Internal IMG_3307 by mark morgan, on Flickr I still have this feeling i have missed something important!!! I am going to try and move most of the under seat wiring so it is hidden to some extent just to make everything neat and tidy..

The next few weeks are going to be Very expensive!! Bike was built up as far as it can for the "last" mock up, Now fully stripped down with the frame cleaned up, ready for powder..
Parts have all been boxed up and ready to be sent off for Chroming, Two sets of wheels and two sprocket carriers cleaned and ready for powder and paint. One set Powder in black and the other in black 2k as they have polished rims and couldn't be powdered.
Engine cases cleaned and stripped ready for 2k black
Wheel spindles and swing arm spindle have been sent off to Ti64 for new ones to be made up. (very expensive) but should be worth it.. i think.. ;-)
MBD rad ordered wiring loom ordered from LC club

New Talon rear sprocket in Black has now been sourced and ordered, I Broke my cheap chinese chain splitter a few weeks ago on my KTM chain so ordered a RK chain splitter kit along with a RK 520 ZXW 120 link chain in Black.. I think they look very good and should suit the bike well...
I can't seem to make my mind up on the final colour scheme!!! Trouble is I like so many variants to just choose one... ;-) I don't know how you guys do it.. Anyone good with photoshop? ;-)
Bike booked in for powder/paint on the 19th and should be collecting when i return on the 3rd july.. Chrome should be back in 2-3 weeks Ti64 parts should be circa 6 weeks Lc club wiring loom has no date as it seems the guy making them has had a bad car crash. Wishing him a speedy recover obviously , But FFS just my luck...

As it's a hybrid, you can do anything you like Mark You can get any type of decals made up too, so the sky's the limit ! Consider the colour of your wheels before deciding on bodywork colour though as they'll need to either match or be a good contrast. When I chose the "Electric orange" for the Lc hybrid, I had seen a Ford ST in that colour and that sealed it for me. They do a new, lighter orange for the newer models - think it's called Tangerine ? - and is somewhere between orange and yellow. If I ever did another hybrid, I would go with something like that coz it's different Good luck Dusty

Cheers dusty..
I have two set of wheels, i was offered a set at a good rate on a facebook page for english bikes as the guy didnt know what they were off... As i spent about 8 years polishing the rims on the original set so i would like to use those with black centres, the other set will be solid black. Trouble is i like polished rims but i see some bikes with them and they looked dated then i see another and i think WOW that looks wicked.
I guess, like the build it will be what it will be and will evolve as it progresses..
Mclaren do some amazing colours, Burnt orange, tornado red,
I will have a better idea i guess when everything is back from the powder coaters and all the bling is fitted...

When you get your wheels back from the painter and hurry them to have tyres fitted, Collect them and with the excitement you turn into a neanderthal with a Rock smashing your Disc bolts in!! Snapped one bolt in the wheel.. GUTTED!!!!

You need to run a tap through but hindsight is great ! I had done on all or so i had thought.. must have missed one..... " src="//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/superangry.png"> I will get some easy outs and have a go.. other than that im stumped or screwed!!!

Easy outs are the devils work !
Get a small drill and keep going bigger but must remain dead straight, or left hand drill bits or get a nut welded on but don't think the powder coat would take the heat
