Well what can l say, the Aussies are kicking your Arse. Probably not time zone friendly for the poms to watch but I must say the 2nd test in Adelaide had me worried that we just might get beat. But true to form the poms collapsed leaving the bahmy army awfully quiet. Bring on the next test!

Rugby Union. the Autumn International at Twickenham England 30 Australia 6. But yes regarding the World Cup England were poor. you could say we have improved because of the coach. He's an Aussie! Rugby League went to Australia, but it was a good game.

So this is the sort of stuff I should be expecting when I land in Austrailia in 10 days then, is it?
Now I like my cricket, but I don't think I'm going to be much sport for them. If they start banging on about the poor quality of our batting and bowling, at the moment, i'm going to have to agree with them.
Ok, we saw a flash of what we could do with the ball at the end of the 3rd(?) day, and I cant help but wonder what the match would have turned out like if we had shown that kind of spirit on day 1.
You've got to hand it to the Aussie bowlers tho, fantastic display of fast bowling and dangerous spin from Nathan Lyon.
I'd love to be able to go and see a days play somewhere, but its going to cost a fortune in flights from Brisbane.

To be fair
I thought Australia were lucky in the League world cup, 6 -0 was a close call, a few held to passes and it could well have been a different story
You only had to listen to Cam Smith's and Billy Slater's post match interviews to tell they thought it was a tough close game
Too close for Meninga I'd say and probably pleasing enough for Bennett
As for the cricket, well I think you are a goner in Perth, I can't see England winning - sorry

Agreed that's an honest review. I think it will be 5-0. Have to wait for next Rugby Union World Cup, although England will probably not get out the group stage again! And to top it of you have Kylie!

While we are on the subject of Auzzies, why do the call US poms? I mean I know all about the old transportees having POHM on their shirts, which was Prisoner of her majesty. But surely that must mean that THEY are the poms??? Apart from the ones that claim to be decended from the guards, which is nearly all of them.

I have heard the meaning of POM discussed before Billy, and I believe it is not Prisoner of her Majesty. My memory does not serve me well but it may have been to do with lack of citrus foods and root of scurvy. I will have do some research. Hope you are enjoying or enjoyed your days on the Gold Coast

POM is as I understand it Prisoner of Mother England
Ie cant wait to get back there
28-29 is probably the average temp, Brisbane is sub tropical ie below the Tropic of Capricorn, however it will most likely be humid, that will change the ball park for you

According to good old Wikipedia apparently pomegranate is Australian slang for immigrant, and used the term for those who moved from the UK to Australia. I am sure the cricketers share plenty of terms.

I stand corrected.
It apparently comes from Pomegranate, which is rhyming slang for Immigrant (really???), or Pomegranate because that's what colour we go when exposed to the sun, it could be Prisoner of Mother England, as in, we are all prisoners over here in the UK, while they have all the freedom, sunshine, no ozone layer, sharks, crocs, most of the venomous snakes and spiders in the world, big rats bouncing round the place and the most imaginative place names in the world, The Great Sandy Desert, Shark Bay, etc.

Mind you France was over 40 degrees last year, but not as humid as it could have been.

Also don’t forget that Sc**thorpe is the only place name in the world with a certain four letter word in it! 😂 I’ll take the snakes/spiders/sharks etc if it means 12 month’s riding weather every year...😜

Hampton Court was a place given to Henry 8th a long time ago and used to doss about in, or to "Hold Court". Dont quite see why you've picked on this one? We've got lots more stupid ones, Brown Willy, Shitterton, The Village of Bell End?
We are as amused about Sc**thorpe as you are.

Well if you haven't been watching the 3rd test in Perth, I suggest that you don't start. Not going at all well, but we didn't really expect much of the poms then did we.

Hello Plumma thought you would have something to say. We are a charitable lot and thought we better let you have it to save any disappoint on home turf. Sure next year will provide other sporting comparisons. Nonetheless Smith is the no1 batsmen in the world and you cannot beat that quality.

I honestly believe Smith is to conservative. In the last session on day 3 the English were beat, and Smith should have taken to their bowlers, but he still played very defensively. My theory is once your foot is on the opposition throat, you don't let it off.

Looks like the weather has saved England as a blows about 30 knots and pisses rain, plus the curators have allowed the pitch to get wet overnight.

Well what can I say, the Aussie's have regained the ashes in the 3rd test by an innings and 41 runs.
