The resin ones cost more than an entire kit! I made those from scratch. Old pen cases and some bits of small tubing stuck together, filled and sanded down. Was trying to replicate Allspeeds, almost got there lol.

Look good and old school solution to the pipes remember making them myself back in the day and using pen ink cartridges as silencers. I will eventually get round to making mine.

Thanks Dusty. Sadly it got dropped and I chipped the lacquer but it's been done again and is drying now. Onto caliper #2 then!

I just notice you have no locking tabs on the front disk bolts, as they are allen bolt type. Make sure you thread lock them in :-)

Just a temporary fix until I get some proper bolts! Thanks for noticing though, no one else did , and thanks Ken, caliper #2 should be on tomorrow. Alex

I think Norbo does the locking tabs.

Yep, easy to get hold of as are the bolts but sadly that involves me handing over money Alex

I took some reasonable ones off my LC bolts and tab washers, both reusable tab washers have never been bent yours if you want them

REEEE...SULT! Always knew I needed some proper LC clocks but £300+ is way beyond my meagre means. Trawling through eBay the other night and a rev counter pops up from fred2stroke (always a good seller I have found). Buy it now £50. Mine. Next day a speedo from someone else, buy it now £55. Also mine. OK, the rev counter is faded and the speedo is KMH but some £25 decals will sort it all. I was going to get a converter as well so the odometer shows miles instead of kilometres but this is my bike and I don't really care how many miles are on the clock. So chuffed to get these, and after the sale of my RD frame and bits the budget is empty once again. I am now restoring a couple of 1960's and 70's bass guitars for the next purchases! Hi Alex Great result mate They look in great condition. The faces are easy enough to change - they will look brand new then. An expensive part ticked off the list I found some bolts yesterday, so next time you are passing... Dusty

Thanks Mark. This project has been going on for well over a year now, and only because of parts prices. Going to pick up some caliper bolts from Dusty tomorrow and then I'll (try) to bleed the brakes! Alex

Alex glad you got the bits, that’s what I love about this site basically we all want to see more LC back on the road. Lots of us do the same for the same reason. Looking forward to seeing the build.

Thanks again Tim. The clock cases are cleaning up a treat, the engine plastics I don't need but I will clean and repaint them and let others here have them.

Hi Alex Agree - good Karma mate. There are some good people about, and the forum is full of them I've long advocated having a "swap" section on here. If you spend time and money refinishing parts, why not offer to swap for something you need ? Most of us hate selling on ebay, and often pay over the odds when buying from it, so like minded members could offer swaps on here first. Worth a thought. Dusty

Went over to Dusty's today and came home with these... www.aircooledrdclub.com/smf/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=54611.0;attach=78975;imageI never seem to leave there without something or other thanks matey! With the bike getting closer to completion I thought I'd make a quick list of what I still need... clutch cable wiring loom, or an idiot proof diagram and I can make one (electrics not my forte!) lift handle grab rail exhausts passenger foot rests chain coil top part of airbox steering damper and ALL the engine internals so all easy to find and dirt cheap... You are welcome mate , and thank you for the frame I can get you an A3 laminated Lc colour wiring diagram- give me a couple of days. Think I may have a spare Lc coil too - untested but you are welcome to it Dusty

No worries Dusty, just very glad I could return at least one favour! A diagram would be brilliant and so would a coil. I assume there is a way to test them somehow?

Probably, although I don't posses any electrical testing kit. This was in a box of spares that I've had ages. I will dig it out - saw it today when I was tidying the shed Dusty
