I just got this 83 CB1100F - they go for reasonable money in the US. All original paint and exhaust, 10,000 from new. I was amazed how well it goes and handles - I used to have an 04 ZRX1200, and the Honda drives every bit as good despite being 20 years older. Anti dive forks are good too for when i take the missus on the back (she won't go on the back of smaller bikes). I have a couple of small things to fix on it. I it thought was running very lean and wouldn't rev out past 7000rpm till i realized the tach was reading about 70% of the true value. Apparently the tach and speedos on these need lubricating with a dry lubricant to get them working well again. 20171013-IMG_3929 by don potter, on Flickr 20171013-IMG_3944 by don potter, on Flickr

Thanks both- yes - original exhaust and paint was what convinced me to buy it. I paid 5200 quid for it. Its amazing how many bikes were bought in the 70s and 80s in the US and just stored. Growing up in the UK we never had enough money not to have to sell your bike in order to buy the next one. I have a 48H RZ350 which is in even better original condition than the Honda. Z1 and CBX obviously go for top money but bikes like this CB1100F are still undervalued. I just sold a mint RD350B (see pic) for $5800 which was a good bit less than it stood me at. I had more in the RD350 than the CB1100 cost me. 20170823-IMG_3752 by don potter, on Flickr

This CB1100 makes me feel embarrassed to get my CB900F out of the garage! Very, very nice example.
Regards, Aid.

Still a couple of things to do and a fresh paint job. Can't decide on colour, originally silver, but I really like metallic candy red. DSC_0037[1] by Aidan Murray, on Flickr
