I have had both . Quight some years back but i have to say with out a doubt the RG is the best to ride, it has slopy forks and crap brakes but it is fast and handles not to bad . The RD has the same brakes on as the 350F2 and just wont stop with the extra waight its forks are very sloppy and botton out all the time and its not as fast .
If i had to choos one to own it would be the RD every time becourse dispipe it not being as good it looks better . I realy dont like the look of the RG.

Norbo I felt safer on the RG ;D.I agree with you on the RD soon as you hit the anchors in a twisty bit of road made the bike VERY unstable.I only rode a Rd for about 3 weeks that was enough for me m8 8-)We are talking Standard bikes here. The RG will wipe the ass of a RD coming out a corner even taking into account it goes in faster.Norbo maybe i shouldnt say this here i loved the LOOK of it m8 ;D.It is the best classic v 4 stroker twin of all time, and i want another 1

Hi There,
Owned an RG about 15 years ago, until our relationship was rudely cut short (some b*****d nicked it!!!) I found it great fun, but very thirsty, and very temperamental. Had a test ride on an RD when they came out, and enjoyed that as well. But lets face it, we're splitting hairs here, they were both great machines, the like of which we'll never see again.

Norbo these guys dont know their bikes :'(WTF oh is this a yam site and f@ck the good bikes?? I'm not such a blind Yam devotee (I've had others too), but it's odd how often I was looking for a certain type of bike that a Yam in that class seemed to fit the bill perfect. (e.g. FJ1100, R6). Which is probably why the LC is Yam no.9, but I'd love to make it 10 by grabbing an RDV4 as well.

Norbo these guys dont know their bikes :'(WTF oh is this a yam site and f@ck the good bikes??People ok yams make great bikes but somtimes others make beter bikes ;DOk rd250 rg250 rg is a better handling bike it might not look as nice but F2ck me it goes and will wipe the ass off a rd.Why all the boys put 350 tuned motors in the rg frame{it aint rocket sience} ;DNorbo tell them about the front end of a rd 2 350 its a nightmare why u all need dampers and rg dont realy nead one WHY??its a great frame but if Paplo welded it ill go by BUS The RG does have a better chassis but the engines are crap and not very fast compared to the 350YPVS so putting the 2 together makes a wiked bike. Im a yam fan but have had 4 ZRX750's and a few other non tam bikes in my time, but performance is not what im in to i just like the look of the lc and ypvs there not to fast and the handeling keeps you on your tows some times to much . What im saying is people go for the bike they like the look of most not the best bike they can aford . Lets face it if they went for the best bike Harley davidson would'nt see anything would they ;D.

well although i have not ridden either have seen both close up and from a modding point of view it is far easier to make the rd handle better by adjusting the rake on the forks, and spreading the length of ground coverage slightly ot make the ground coverage to height to weight ratio better. its all physics, minor adjustments on the frame, suspension, and swingarm make a world of difference. but i am tlking minor a matter of millimetres. baggy has proven this with a nsr 250 rr he had..... left most 600's for dead lunatic machine. a little tweek here a little tweek there,
i think rd's have more charm when it comes to looks, rg's just look like "another bike" nothing spectacluar.
