When our bikes were new Yamaha sold a number of accessories, most of which no one ever bought and to be honest I never saw any kind of catalogue for them at the dealers I visited, so didnt even know they existed until the internet came along. One of these was a rack. Ever since I saw one I wanted one, I thought it would be useful and being rare it was also cool. Most of these sold in Japan and the USA from what I can tell and Ive never seen one on my travels, have you? As a side project I'd been looking at making one of these (yeah for the longest time) as I wanted one and just could not find an OEM one. Then out of the blue a chap on the RDRZ500 forum who already makes racks for other bikes has decided to make some. His post is here: www.rzrd500.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=14777I was wondering if he might have had a better response if he had posted them on here instead, being more UK centric etc. This is the racy looking unit im talking about, not a massive clunky thing for delivering pizzas (pics of the OEM unit from Xavier's site of course) Anyway, what do you think? worth his time and effort?

I have one for my LC and F2, which I put on for long road trips, as it means the bulky stuff goes there instead of on my back.
Arguably not overly fashionable but bloody useful.

had them before rentec used to make them . But they didnt sell so they stopped making them. I can see them being handy if your doing a jerny and need that little extra space to put something small .

I like the look, but probably wouldn't bother now, when I used my bikes all the time, it was great for waterproofs and a couple on Bungey hooks.
The Germans seem to love racks, not found one on there at all?? Got an 80 and TDR that came with them on.

Never thought about it.. But you must be right. Decades ago I bought a Porsche 356A and it had a Foolishly large Chrome rack bolted to it's engine hood. Oem alegedly... took it off within the hour. SE Asians are famous for carrying 'stuff' on their scooter/bikes. Google for a laugh.
