Why do you need a bleed pipe? If you take your in-line stat apart you may find it has a hole in it, as a bypass. Jess

If I have one hose going higher than the return pipe to the radiator, will this cause an air lock ?

Not the best pic but the other 180 bend turned up Chopped about an inch off to tuck it in and could probably tuck it in a bit more but it fits and hopefully be ok
On the top run you can see the "T" piece for the bleed pipe
As its flexible I should be able to push it out the way to get at the head nuts
Trimmed a bit more with all the clamps fitted and the bypass pipe

Couldn't get the rear light to work and after a lot of head scratching it turns out it was a crap earth
I had sprayed the rear reflector silver and covered where the earth connector is DOH !
Made me realise having a good earth is pretty important LOL
Did the wire for the front brake light switch too and could have fitted the headlamp shell if I had a bulb ....

Tried the tank and one side panel ! Been on top of the wardrobe for about 2 years and needed a dust LOL
Still got to get front mudguard done in black
Got standard rad guard to go on too
Plus the brake hoses that I still seem to be putting off !
Kenny is doing the end cans

It has YPVS on the side panels as 2 years a go that was the way I was going with a full YPVS motor but then went the Athena route
I can always tell the non believers that it has a YPVS bottom end LOL
Or if it shits itself like poor Marsbar350's Athena motor, then the side panel will make sense when it reverts back !

Love the Kr1s bits I reckon far better than the rgv, love this part of the build just when you’re getting there, the difficulty I have is not rushing to finish it. Looks really good.

Torqued up the front sprocket (always a good thing to do !) and re sealed the exhausts on the manifolds
Now if I can find someone with some crimps to put the terminals on my HT leads . I may be not far from starting it EEK !!!

Nothing much to report but now have brake lines fitted ! The banjo for the radial master cylinder needed a 20 degree side bend and a 20 degree downwards bend Had them from HEL and they were very helpful as I think I sent about 20 messages LOL
Used the original RGV brake splitter to keep one line from the master cylinder

Just arrived ! I had them made longer as Ramair can do this for you

Post by headcoats on Nov 13, 2019 14:07:46 GMT 1
Just pushed on to check the fit
Probably could have gone another 10mm on the length but more area than standard
I think when I measured up for these I didn't allow the fact they slip onto the back of the carbs "length" which is about 10mm ...
You can see in the pic too that I don't paint the top case on the YPVS engine as it holds up well in bare alloy and hardly needs any elbow grease to keep it looking good

Not long now until it's ready to ride by the looks of it?? Just looked through the other pics too, did you set the ride height and drill the rear shock mount fixing, as it looks way higher at the rear compared to my RGV swingarm set-up. I do like a yellow paint job
