Might seem a bit drastic but if the side stand mount was cut off and moved a bit...would they fit? Alex Ironically they fitted better on my other frame as that had the side stand frame bracket re welded back on and was slightly sticking outwards
The frame had quite a few repairs and decided to go for my German unregistered frame as it was the best one The side stand bracket is in the right place so in the wrong place if you know what I mean LOL

I like the wonky look personally, but they need to look deliberately wonky in my opinion, like the pipes on that lovely KR Lc. Short cans will really change the "look" of the pipes too. Worth trying to mock up some 6 inch cans to give you an idea - either a bit of CAD work , or a couple of empty beer cans will give you an idea. May help you decide if wonky works better or not ? Dusty
Some empty beer cans is more my style LOL
Now Donk has mentioned the side stand option I should have had the side stand spring moved to the outside to help but everything is nicely powder coated now
The one end can is dented anyway and I have a new sleeve to fit so the dented one could be cut up to see how short cans look
I do want to go Wonky but as you say I need to go fully Wonky. not half arsed Wonky !

I did have a thought that it might be the stand causing the issue
Most modern spannies will need a side stand mod im afraid
Take the stand off and see if you can get them to sit better
If they fit without having to cut off the spigot for the spring then there is no real problem with modding the frame
Even if you have to cut the spigot off it is no big deal
To move the stand spring to the outside you just have to drill and tap an m6 hole on the outside of the stand bracket directly opposite where the locating peg is on the inside.
Then grind off the mushroom on the stand just leaving the weld at the base and drill right through it and tap m6 so a stainless bolt threads right through for the other end of the spring
No welding, no damaged powder coat
Steve

You won’t bend that with a pipe spring it’s hard enough bending copper using a 22 mm spring, maybe someone nearby has a pipe bender I’ve got one in my garage that I’ve never used ,you must know a plumber!

2.5mm thick walls? really? That's some serious pipework, must weigh a tonne.
I reckon if you get them hot enough they will bend with a spring in and something long & hefty to give extra leverage. Going to need to be glowing red though, may not do much for the finish.
That spring on eBay is too small though. You need a spring with 22mm OD, that one is for copper pipe with an OD of 22mm, so the ID of the pipe will be less.

Yes I see the problem now !
It can be that thick either can it eek ?
Getting it in a pipe bender then ?

You can try this Martin. Get the tube hot and push very slowly keeping an eye on it. Or cut a wedge out of the stinger where it joins the pipe and get it re-welded.

The pipes might be that thick on the downtubes but I wouldn't have thought the entire exhaust will be like that. 2.5mm is more than a car's body panel! I seriously suggest alcohol and a hammer. Not necessarily on the exhausts but you will enjoy yourself Alex

After some more feckin about I'm not far off
Like CB250 mentioned about fitting a "wedge" shaped spacer to angle the silencer
The pic shows 2 washers making a 2.40mm gap one end to take up
Or cut the collar that holds the silencer off at the back and then bend until it lines the silencers up then re weld, but leaving a flap on the front to hold it in the correct position

Emailed Lomas about some carbon sleeves for my pipes to replace the stainless ones and they can supply them, I have asked them if they do shorter ones and can pre drill them
Don't ask much but waiting for a reply

Thinking of having the Go Kart thermostat looping back on itself then looping back again to top rad hose elbow Got to incorporate the bleed hose T junction too , so going straight up from the Athena head is a no no as it's too short of a hose length
The temperature sender fits in the Go Kart stat

Been doing a bit of fannying to the build !
Clocks and switchgear fitted plus wiring loom, front indicators , tacho cable
Found the wires to the rear indicators are too short and had to order a genuine tacho cable after the TSX aftermarket one wouldn't even screw on FFS
Lost the new woodruff key too !

Still need to route a return spring for the rear brake but have an idea now LOL
**Spring Sorted^^
If you look closely ,in the round holes of the hanger. the first one you can see an M6 allen bolt bolted to a hole in the footbrake That brings the point where the spring fixes too "outward" and with an 80mm thinner spring, it comes across the front of the rear master cylinder to the standard fixing point at the back Old clutch cover on for now The wiring is a big task to do 😿

The RD 500 kickstart is well wobbly in the closed position ,I had it modded ages ago and I can't believe I didn't notice it then FFS
Don't know if the RD500 kickstart has a slightly larger bearing that clicks it into position when retracted , so ordered a bigger bearing and see if that sorts it
Update !
6mm ball bearing from Ebay sorted it New Flash over LOL

Plus I guess getting the front mudguard painted black Sending end cans to Kenny to shorten them He may be able to put a carbon sleeve on but he needs to see them first
