Holy crap ! why does everyone get so worked up about the worth other people attach to there own bikes/cars/fridges/toasters etc ? The market (those with money to spend) will decide what its worth and offer accordingly. If you like the bike, and do have money to spend, make an offer based on what you think its worth.

Sadly it is driving up prices disproportionately I have had lc's since the mid 80's as most on here have for a long time they were seen as cheap fun choices and even when I had other bikes I often had an LC. Over the past ten years they have risen in price 6 or so years ago you would pay £1500-2000 for a really nice one. They have more than doubled now and I guess most of us are seeing prices as becoming ridiculous compared to a few years ago. They are also having a effect on the value of parts that are consequently having an impact on the cost of rebuilds etc that's why there are comments on prices. Yes well done if you get the price your selling for and I have personally seen my parts sell on eBay for sometimes crazy values but that will knock on when I buy parts. E.g. I have just had to pay nearly £200 for 2 intake rubbers for a Tz 700 barrel, £200 for 2 pieces of rubber and alloy.

I can't figure how the asking price for something can be a RIP OFF ?, the Guy's not insisting you or anyone else buys it, but someone might and if they do that's what it's worth, to the buyer at least. If you don't ask you don't get is how I was bought up and my neighbours did exactly that recently when they put their house up for sale. They weren't in any rush to move so put it up for £75k more than any of the 3 valuations from local agents, they ended up selling it at £40k more than the highest valuation they'd got, was that a RIP OFF ?

I am alright Jack pull the ladder up, Short sighted as the whole market then goes up making your next purchase more costly. I'm sorry but I can't see why the seller would be thinking "I'm alright Jack" because he's not sold it nor is he likely to at that price but he's only "asking". I totally agree the asking price is astronomical but if he put it up on Ebay with an £8k reserve and it made £15k it'd be the buyer that's pushing up prices not the seller. Some people have more money than most of us, it's just how it is, unless you live in North Korea of course.

Its just economics, It's nothing new, more people (like us lot on here) have more money to spend on stuff we dont need. More people wanting a the same (or diminishing) number of product, will drive up the price.
