Me and a few mates have decided to do the north coast 500 again next year, but on Honda C90's instead of the big bikes. I bought mine for £400 in September, and to be honest, I've had £400's worth of fun on it already. As is the way, when winter came along I decided to give it a quick tart up, as all the paintwork was faded from the original candy red to dull silver, a common issue with this colour. The bodywork is pretty solid so I want to maintain this, especially the rear arch, so I stripped it of any rust, jenolited it and then two thick coats of brush on, zinc Rich primer. Then, a wet flatting followed by aerosol primer. After another light flat, I gave it a coat of silver base, four of candy red and four of clear lacquer. All aerosol, made by canbrush which is apparently petrol resistant... I have also painted all the plastics the same way. Bought a couple of sets of spokes off eBay at £10.45 a set, and respoked the rear wheel after blasting and painting the hub. Polished the rim with wire wool. New replica chainguard off eBay for a tenner and a few odds and ends replaced in nickel. Bought a brand new Lifan 110cc 4 speed motor for it but that's under the Christmas tree. Next job is to paint the rear mudguard and front forks, then do the front wheel, all ready for engine in on Christmas morning....

Looks the dogs b0llox Bill, top job You should try doing one for a change. Simple to work on and all the spares are dead cheap. Its just the bike itself that's dear!

Bill, I have wanted another for many a year now.Bloke at work has a cub, went looking at it 2 years ago thought I was the new owner but it remains in his garage to date. A hoot to chug round on and gather a crowd like flies round a cow's riggot......
