This is interesting to me (and others). I too remember reading this issue on the front room floor of my mum and dads house. I remember admiring both bikes. I wonder if the other one has survived? I've a lot of mates that are into the scooter scene, and occasionally specific iconic scooters turn up in a sorry state. Often these are restored to faithfull replicas of their past. What I like about this bike is that it appeared a work in progress, as there are so many photos of it with subtle changes. This gives you IMO a bit of a free hand in the things that you use, while still retaining the spirit of the bike. I personally preferred it before the jacked up subframe was added. Only musts are IMO: nitrous, 7up paint (maybe diet in this day and age ), dymags, braced alloy swinger, aircraft fuel cap, and non standard lights and clocks. Never seen the 'anti-dive'? Caliper mount, but that's quite unique too. Good luck building your version. Jon

Veg, I thought it was for 'anti-dive' but have no idea how it works, and I'm an engineer!

Jon That's about where I am with it, I've hopefully got a scarp 250 frame sorted, so that gives me the option of returning to pre-jacked up rear end by stitching the rear subframe back on.

It's a shame as I saw an LC tank a little while ago with an aircraft filler cap let into it. Looks like a good job too.
Went for a reasonable price from memory.
Would have been perfect for this. I remember thinking someone would have to break from the normal to own this.

That does sound perfect, but I'm in no hurry, parts sourcing is bound to take some time.

Try using thumbsnap for downloading pictures - it's as easy as and none of the blurred out nonsense.

Tapatalk is what I use for pics, nk built my mechanical anti dive system, I spent some time chatting via email to tony foale about it bought his book and explained it to NIGEL it is actually a very simple system and it works by using the braking forces to lock the forks so it’s normal suspension unless you apply the brakes. Be good to see how this is doing in toms hands as it was the inspiration for my build.
