Hi All I did put a similar post on a few months ago, but my interest waned due to the lack of decent examples out there. However, I've renewed my search again and this one has taken my interest. RD200DXIt's been on a while and I realise this is absolute top money for one of these, but I am specifically after a late model DX, preferably with the LC colours, and finding they're as rare as hen's teeth! I'm not wanting to put any work in as I'm doing a Powervalve at the moment, so I will be needing to pay good money for a (probably) restored example. I plan on going to see it and have made contact with the seller, who is a classic car dealer. My main concern (apart from the high asking price) is the fact that they have no history with the bike. They reckon it has probably been restored at some point, but maybe that mileage is original and it's just been stored as part of a collection for many years. Also, 5 previous owners, although that doesn't worry me so much as it's not that many for a 34 year old bike. It's obviously extremely tidy, but it bothers me that they don't seem to know anything about its past. Would you touch it, especially at this money? What do any of you think it's worth? Many thanks.

It's worth what you want to pay for it, me, I'd not pay it.

plus, dealers dont love holding onto stock that they have little history of. its generally preferred to turn over that stock for end of year figures. ( in the car world anyway) ( if they are a pro company) . make them an offer?

I've checked my previous thread too and not on there, so you must be thinking of someone else. However, I would be interested, so if you would mind asking him what outstanding jobs need doing (if any) maybe we can take it from there. Thanks.

If this bike is high value, then alot of that value is actually not present if there is no info with the bike. it could be that there was history with the bike but it did not help its value....

thought the third link looked pretty nice too Apologies mags, I wasn't ignoring your post, I was just in a rush to get to work this morning. Thanks for sending those links. The only one that would really be suitable is the third one, but it's not much cheaper and someone has previously said in my other thread back in May that it doesn't actually look that tidy if you zoom in. Plus the non-standard colour wheels. I've managed to get the name and address of the previous owner of the bike I posted about, so will try to get a landline number from Google (if it's possible). It's not like I could just drop by, as he's in Oldham, which is even further away than the bike is now!

Thanks for this, I'll definitely be watching it. Not mint by any means, but at the right price could be a good deal. Ticks the age and model boxes too.

Very true. 'It might be this, might be that...' tells me nothing really.
