Mouse, will it be going back looking the same; or will you change it slightly? Jon Hello Jon not going to change her to much as essentially she was great, however i will be changing the pipes!! I will be changing a few small details and there will be a colour change, the red, white and blue was not my favourite but the paintwork was really good before my off so i left it, but now... Mouse I think I'd do the same. That way I could almost justify the unfortunate incident as a chance to improve something. Jon

Mouse, so glad your repairing the bikes "battle scars" so quickly. Great news on the frame, and the wheel repair looks fab.

Another build thread that was new to me. Just read all 12 pages and shared your highs and lows. To see that beauty finished was a sight to behold, then to hear your personal news and then seeing the bike after the spill...think I actually said 'oh f***' out loud at one point. I can't help you with the emotional or physical pain but you will get this bike back to her former self and before you know it you'll be off out for another blast!

Been pretty busy recently, sorting the hybrid. After collecting the frame, i took out the engine, swingarm and all suspension linkages. The frame and front wheel are now ready to be blasted then powdercoated. I have had the swingarm blasted to reveal a few minor dents in the ally (RGV) and i am just waiting for that to come back from having the dents filled with ally, so that too can be powdercoated. In the meantime, i have repainted the airbox, again!! In the tanks bid for freedom it made a bit of a mess of this.
Also i got myself another clutch perch (Fleabay) and stripped and repainted it. Still need to get a new lever.
After 'dressing the fork leg, i re-painted it and now it looks like this
Both lock stops got broken off in the crash so Maidstone Motoliner made and welded on some new ones. They were going to drill and tap the yoke so i could screw in some lock stop, but their tap snapped in the hole and could not be got out! So i settled on this, i don't really mind as long as they work. When i got them home i treated them to a few coats of satin black.
And lastly, i'm so pleased, i got this tail piece (Fleabay) with no damage whatsoever, all the mounting lugs are in tact and there appears to be no damage at all, just needs a coat of paint and on that subject i spoke to Mr Cordwell and have booked a slot with him to do my paintwork as it is going to be a complete repaint.

If so, what a great buy Pleased you are going to Mark Cordwell - you will be really impressed with his work for sure. And Maidstone have done a neat job on the yoke. When is the frame off for powdercoat ? Dusty

Hello Dusty, thanks!
Yes, tail piece from Germany, it came with 3 side panels, none mint but all usable, but the tail piece is the bit i really wanted!
Yes, Mr Cordwell, was going to use the people who did my black one but they are not sure if they are going to be painting bikes next year, they are not taking any work at the mo and won't know about next year till January! Very happy to go with Mark, i've seen your paintwork, it's the best i've ever seen. have reserved a spot with him, probably be next year.
Maidstone have done a really nice job and it was free as they were not able to do exactly what i wanted!! I'll take the other set of RGV forks to them to sort out.
Was hoping to get the frame and other bits off to powdercoat next week, but i got a call for work (which is great) so have to be the week after, i will need to pick up the swingarm first from having its dents filled. Also i am getting the headlight/clocks cradle strengthened with a bit of extra welding so it does not crack again.

Air box looks great 👍 love seeing these old bits brought back to life and looking almost brand new, although I suspect before the tank ragged it it looked pretty spot on..

Evening chaps, a bit more done recently. Left hand switch gear took a bit of a bashing so have redone that, again!! There is a lot of deja vu with this bike!! I took the time to repair part of the inside of the switchgear, the plastic guard that attaches the wiring inside the housing. One of the 'ears' that you put a screw through had snapped off, not unusual considering how brittle the old plastic gets. I tried some of the special glue i got at the Stafford show. It's pretty good stuff, once it had gone off, seven seconds, i was able to drill a hole in it for the screw and use a metal file to shape it. It is not a pretty repair, but you do not see it and as long as it works... This shows the guard with screw and the wiring for the dip switch, headlight flash, horn and indicators
And attached inside the two halves of the switch gear
On to the outside, i rubbed both halves back down to bare metal, gave them several coats of paint, applied some of Norbos replacement stickers and several coats of lacquer. I brightened up the 'horn' type on the horn button with tipex! Not sure it will last, but we will see.
Glad i only had to do one set of switch gear this time, it's fairly time consuming, the throttle side was unscathed luckily.
Next weekend i am hoping to get back my swingarm and headlight cradle. Then i can test fit the headlight cradle, fairing, clocks etc to the yokes. All being well with that it is then off to the powdercoaters!

Not posted for a while as i have been waiting to get a couple of bits back from various people. First off, got my swingarm blasted as i knew it had a couple of dents. The dents had been filled before which was fine as it was then painted, but this time i am going for powdercoat so filler will not stay put. The dents have to be filled with ally.
This was the worst one
This was all done by a local metal fabricator, for £30! Also got them to put some more weld on the headlight, fairing, clock cradle, around where the clocks attach, as my last one cracked. (sorry about the poor quality photo)
Some time ago i bought another headlight, fairing, clock cradle as mine was quite badly bent, not easy things to straighten. So it was a case of attaching the cradle to the fairing, headlight and clocks to see if everything lined up...
...it did!
There really is some weight to it once it is all bolted together, not a great idea when it is all attached to the yokes!!
Had a bit of a result and won these on Fleabay, all NOS and i paid a not too bad price, the cheapest i've seen them. Now not sure whether to fit them or not!!
So, that is it for now, next stop the powdercoaters!

Andrew, fit them. Life's too short.
Enjoy re-building your dream bike, then actually have the pleasure of riding it rather than having parts stashed away that no-one will ever use.
I've got bits some of which I've been hoarding for years. Lambretta as well as LC that I need to thin out. I came across some NOS powervalves I'd forgotten I'd bought. I seem to remember they weren't cheap at the time, but now they are even more expensive.

So, sent off my frame, swingarm and various brackets plus repaired front wheel for blasting and powdercoating. I have never had a frame or swingarm powdercoated before, i always preferred paint, i mean LC's were painted from the factory and i think powdercoat can look to thick and 'gloopy'. However frames are pretty difficult to paint (so many nooks and crannys) and if you can find someone to do it, bloody expensive! So i thought i would try powdercoat. Well i picked everything up a week after dropping it off and i have to say i am hugely impressed, really over the moon with it, i went for satin black everything and it looks fantastic. It really does not look to thick and the coverage is excellent. A big thanks to Dusty for recommending Microblast, they really have done a great job and for £200. I was quoted £800 by a painter and that did not include the front wheel!
Have also been amassing parts for the rebuild. In the 'Pazzo" box are a pair of brake and clutch levers. The clutch lever was 'fubar' after the crash, but i discovered that 'speedycom' will change seperate parts on Pazzo levers, so as i am changing my colour scheme i bought a new clutch lever (beyond repair) but only had to buy the adjuster part for the brake lever as i wanted a different colour, saved buying a whole new brake lever again! The eagle eyed amongst you might have noticed a change in coloured hoses etc!
So, at last i can start the rebuild. Managed to build the rolling chassis this weekend
Got my tyre guys (Guildford tyres) to refit the front tyre and then i refitted the discs and fitted the front wheel
Fitted my repainted air box
And here are the yokes that Motoliner replaced
So the new chain is fitted all the suspension plus forks and wheels, next weekend i hope to fit the engine

You will have to do pics with the 2 sets of end cans on the bikes
I have some Lomas GP pipes for the Hybrid and just have the Lomas s/s end cans at the moment, but I reckon the cut down versions would look feckin cool !
