The steady bubbling of fermenting mead. I like the idea of that. i have never tried mead. i am listening to the same sort of noise from 400 litres of scrumpy, which got pressed in the xmas holiday. 400L!!!! wow, that'll be some party!

...this weekend, I have mostly been listening to signals from space, from the International Space Station. This weekend, and last, the ISS has been transmitting SSTV (Slow Scan Television) which is quite an old way of transmitting pictures, but one of its first uses was to send pictures back from the moon. Nowadays SSTV software is free, there are smart phone apps to decode it, and they let the man in the street play with it on his weekends off ! I wasnt getting great results at first, and the pictures were kind of scratchy, as I had too much loss in my coaxial cables, so, I did away with the coax cable and made a "lash up" with a jubilee clip and some welding rods and put the aerial strait onto the top of the radio, and went out into the garden, I got my best picture of the weekend this way. Steven.
