Please do an YPVS four for your next project! I have two engines laying around and could use some inspiration and guidance how to join them. My next build is an LC700 4 cylinder as I have the crankcases/cylinders/heads. I see no reason why a YPVS cant be turned into a four - just the power valves to work out. Modern ignition systems should take care of the servo signal.
PM me if you need anything help
Mark

YPVS 700. I'll let you lead and then I follow your thread. Please make it like a cooking recipe :-)
The power valves should be possible to connect in a similar way as between C1&C2. I wonder if the gearbox can take the power. Arrow thinks he could join two oil pumps. A moderate tune and 150 HP. Two 421 kits and 200HP! Can I fit it into a TZR? Maybe some reinforcement needed!

Brilliant write up, pictures and the workmanship that has gone into it is fabulous. Only regret is not seeing it at Stafford as it looked bloody lovely in the pictures. Thank you for entertaining us all.
Fabulous.

I know I haven't posted for a while, as I needed to get my V5 changed to the new details. I've changed colour, engine number and engine capacity. Now , I needed an engineers report to change the cc of the triple, and this is where Muttsnuts helped me no end. Dave was simply superb. He sorted the report out - DVLA managed to loose the paperwork, I phoned Dave and he sent me a copy report. Nothing was too much trouble and without his help I wouldn't have got the V5 sorted, so a huge thank you to Dave .
Anyway the details changed, so here's the V5
SDC11475
So when the weather gets a bit warmer, I'll get an MOT and tax for "the MAD one".
Cheers, Mark

I hope the Civil Service aren't monitoring my internet usage today as I've spent 5 hours going through every detail of this.
Such an awesome build and a great write-up. I eagerly look forward to following the progress on the 700LC!

Thanks lrcarl and mouse Simon - glad you liked the thread, it must have been a very thorough read - I really enjoyed the journey.
Mr Kipling, I'm still parts collecting for the 700LC, mine won't be a YPVS, but will have a YPVS section of crankcase so I can use a PV clutch mechanism. If you build a YPVS version, I'll help you in anyway I can. Dusty, Yogi and OEB have been superb in their help in many of the parts needed - I can't thank them enough. I hope to start fabrication in the summer, but the difficult mods on the frame have already been done thanks to Jon on this Forum, again - big thanks to Jon.
Dusty, I still have to pinch myself about the reg number. I planned to do the triple; bought a pile of LC bits mainly for the UK frame (from Ebay) and that was the reg that came with the frame - fate
Cheers, Mark

Dave, nothing to report. I'm waiting for the weather to get better before running the bike. It's in the heated "mancave", so the bike is a bit pampered! I'm expecting a few hiccups to get the bike fully sorted.

So you have built an incredible triple which sounds and looks amazing but your not satisfied you now need a 4 cylinder ypvs in the garage, you wearing a hair shirt and regularly beating yourself as well? Mark you’ve spent too much time with Alan millyard.

Wow. Can't believe that I've heard this bike running....sounds fantastic. What an awesome feat of engineering- I'd have given up long ago. You deserve a knighthood for services to two-stroke engineering!

Mark you’ve spent too much time with Alan millyard. I think you've rumbled me Veg . The 4 cylinder LC is just beginning to take shape, I'll start a build thread in the summer. I might have a go at a YPVS 4, or YPVS triple after that. That bloody Millyard has a lot to answer to.

OK, I kept this quiet (only Dusty knew), but I entered the triple for Practical Sportsbike's "special build of the year". The editor phoned me today and said the triple has made the top 10. The bike will be in Peterborough for the photo shoot on March 17th - to say I'm a bit excited is such an understatement . I'll try to take a few photo's if they let me, and post them up.
I'm well happy ,
Cheers, Mark (still got a silly grin on my face)

Well done Mark I knew it would make top 10. And I honestly think you have a great chance of winning the competition. The work that has gone into this is stunning. Just the work on the frame to get the engine in amazing - most of it hidden by the rad, but we all know on here what has gone into this. It's a lovely hybrid before you take into account the extra cylinder. And it's still so obviously an Lc to look at - fooling many who walked past it at Stafford !! It's got my vote for Bike of the year, no doubt Cant wait to see your pics of the photoshoot. Dusty
