Haha, cheers mate I must try harder !! Fitted the horn bracket this morning. Not a job I would care to do again !! It helped having the other bike to copy, thankfully. The Rgv bottom yoke has a concave curved shape, so you need to space the bracket away from it so the horns clear the fork legs. The spacers are just ally tube that has a chamfer at one end allowing the bracket to sit square to the curved yoke. Luckily I had some ally tube that was the right internal and external diameter. I found the angle of the chamfer - 15 degrees - and cut the 2 pieces of tube on my drop saw as it has an all purpose blade that will cut metal as well as wood. I now had the components to allow me to drill the mounting holes in the yoke; 20180224_121039 by David Miller, on Flickr I offered the bracket up and marked where I needed to drill. I centre punched the yoke, and started off with a pilot drill, then up to a 6mm. Once done, and happy it was at the correct angle, I tapped the hole. Did he same the other side; 20180224_120116 by David Miller, on Flickr And then bolted on the bracket; 20180224_115940 by David Miller, on Flickr 20180224_115931 by David Miller, on Flickr And the end result; 20180224_130548 by David Miller, on Flickr Bracket will now get a final rub down for paint, spacer tubes will get polished and I will sort out some matching fasteners. Gonna order some better horns too. Dusty

Nice horn Bracket Dusty, looks great, that’s a job I need to tackle on mine too.... wanted to make a comment about your swinger, yes it looks a lot shorter but isn’t that how the original Lc was? ( I’m sure it was) I think we have all, got used to seeing hybrids with longer back ends and started to like the look...... the shorter back end has its advantages though, the front end will be a lot lighter and more prone to getting airborne which is one of the hooligan qualities we all enjoyed back in the day so it’s a bonus :-)

Hi Mark The Metmachex keeps the lc wheelbase standard whereas an rgv arm makes it around 4 inches longer. I dont mind the look of the longer wheelbase with rgv gear though.

Cheers mate Finished now; 20180301_160209 by David Miller, on Flickr Painted gloss black, and I lightly polished the ally spacers and the Ypvs logo plate. Used some dome nuts to tidy it up too. Dusty

Cheers fellas Pretty pleased with the way the bracket turned out, especially for £2 !! The fold in the bracket makes it really strong and it mimics the look of a standard bracket at first glance. I was thinking about the bike today, and the fact it will run premix. The oil tank made way for the electrics plate under the side panel, but I would still prefer to run a pump, especially after Arrow has rebuilt it. So I'm now thinking of making a template for an oil tank that will mount to the side of the rad, maybe. I used a fella in Wales for a bespoke tank in the past, and will see what I can come up with. Hi Alex, There are a few different ideas for oil tanks. The hardest bit is finding somewhere to mount it so it looks good and functions properly. I want something that blends in as much as possible. I was really pleased with the tank I had made before, but that tucked up inside the back of the frame on a pv, and I don't have that option on the Lc. I know Mutts had a cylindrical type tank on his pv that looks good, and it seems an obvious place to mount a cylinder style tank if you have no other option. I saw this on ebay last night, and may give it a try; www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Universal-14-Ounces-2-x-10-2-x-10-Aluminum-Radiator-Overflow-Tank-Catch-Can/281665809629?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649They do different sizes, and the bottom would need modding to a single spigot, but probably cheaper to do that than get a bespoke tank made from scratch. I don't need a big cylinder so it would probably fit in well, and not be too obvious at first glance. Dusty

I wont be fitting the one I've linked as it's going to be too tall - just wont look right. Something about 8"x2" would be better. Filler cap at top, single feed for an oil line at the bottom, a vent, and a sight tube would be nice but not essential. I will keep looking but think I will end up getting the cardboard out again !! Messed around with the numberplate again the other day. I wanted a smaller plate as it improves the look of the back end. I tried all sorts to get it looking right, but in the end I had to cut down my numberplate bracket. It had already been cut for the recessed rear light, so I didn't feel bad about it !! I cut off just enough to mount the 7x5 plate; 20180308_160939 by David Miller, on Flickr One job leads to another of course, and now need to make a smaller bracket for the indicators, so it doesn't stick out so far ! Also need to dig out my pv oil pump for a rebuild. I'm waiting on an ally reservoir from China to arrive to see if it's suitable for use as an oil tank, or maybe modded to work. That might take a month to get here. Dusty

MOT won't bother with size of the plate. Plod will. Not sure about the reflector for an MOT though...

I'm surprised that the size of the plate won't fail it, surely it should because it's not road legal at the end of the day?

Well I've never had an issue, with bikes and cars come MOT time. But I was fined £60 for having an incorrect rear plate on my car a few years ago!

Looking fantastic, you won’t have any trouble with your mot re the plate size, both my bikes have the same size plate and have never had an issue. I did have a comment off the rozzers once but he said he was a nice police man and would only do me for speeding and he wouldn’t bother about the plate size haha

Thanks to my knackered back and now knee, the chances of me riding much are greatly reduced unfortunately, so the small plate will stay on after the MOT. Still got my Fire Service I.D, and that's got me out of trouble in the past Dusty
