Couple of bits done this week. I wanted to change back to standard footrest, so bought a NOS pair off Norbo, and fitted them yesterday; Before 20171103_104944 by David Miller, on Flickr And after; 20171103_110042 by David Miller, on Flickr The alloy pegs are nice but after removing the pillion pegs I just fancied going back to stock. I also upjetted the 31k carbs. After speaking to Mutts and Kenny, I've gone up to 260 mains and 25 pilots as a starting point. I also tracked down some orange overflow pipe as it was red before and wouldn't have looked right !!; 20171103_115411 by David Miller, on Flickr I also fitted some steering damper brackets but Norbo is out of stock at the mo so will have to wait for a damper. Loom is still the next, main job, which I must get around to. Dusty

Hi You may have read in another post that the bike fell off it's stand whilst on the driveway. I was very lucky in that the only damage was a broken lever and a scuffed bar end, thankfully. I hadn't had any problems with the stand before, but looking at it more closely, it does seem very "upright", and liable to fall again if it was knocked into, so not wanting to go through that again, I decided to mod both the stand brackets on my bikes. I used my angle grinder with a flap wheel installed to grind some of the stopper part back so the stand travels forward more. Before and after pics; 20171116_102448 by David Miller, on Flickr 20171118_092735 by David Miller, on Flickr Both bikes lean over more now and feel far more stable than before, so a good job done. I also polished out the scratches in the alloy bar end; 20171118_095046 by David Miller, on Flickr 20171118_102020 by David Miller, on Flickr 10 minutes with a flexi abrasive pad and 2 minutes on the polishing wheel sorted it. I've ordered some Chinese shorty levers from ebay which should arrive next week so we'll see how good they are. Dusty

Good work Dusty, I always worry about side stands and never park a bike "downhill" when on it's side stand. It's a horrible feeling when a bike goes over. Great result on the minimal damage

Hi Mark I always get nervous around the bikes at Brands when we go. Really dodgy slope there and I feel that if you breathed on a bike it would fall off the stand !! Not sure if the suspension change on the hybrids has made a difference to how the bike stands, but it's worth considering for anyone doing a hybrid. Dusty

When I first had my red LC on the road I had the same problem with the side stand and it was because I had jacked the back end up

Nicely polished sir (doffs cap). I had the same side stand issue with jacked up rear ends many moons ago...and yes, one fell over!

Hi The Chinese levers and master cylinder turned up, and initially looked promising; 20171123_140814 by David Miller, on Flickr 20171123_140759 by David Miller, on Flickr They cost me £23.00 odd from ebay so I thought I would take a chance. My issue is I have an Rgv master cylinder with a standard lever, and an Lc clutch perch with a standard lever, so a mismatched pair with regards to buying a pair of Rgv levers. The Chinese set looked like the master cylinder was a copy of the Nissin Rgv item. Closer inspection would confirm that although here are some casting differences. So my idea of using the Chinese brake lever in the Nissin master failed as the lever is narrower at it's mounting point than the Jap version The other part I wanted to use off the Chinese copy was the fluid pot. I have a billet pot on the Lc hybrid, and think it looks really neat; 20171116_193932 by David Miller, on Flickr A search of the net, ebay etc turns up a similar pot in Australia !! Cant fine anything like it in the Uk, and getting one posted from Aus would be around £80, so I hoped the Chinese pot would fit. Well it does, but a bit too easily - I think it may not seal properly as the flanged end is fractionally smaller than it needs to be So I'm back to my original set up. I bought a new plastic fitting from Suzuki for the master cylinder as I broke the old one getting it out; 20171207_102924 by David Miller, on Flickr I will re orientate it so the clear pipe that feeds it will sit better than standard. The alloy plug is for the end of the pipe. I also bough a cosmetically challenged Rgv clutch perch off ebay - resprayed it and cleaned up the adjuster; 20171207_102652 by David Miller, on Flickr So I've now ordered a pair of decent quality Rgv levers off ebay which, should, fit straight on. And for info, the Chinese levers look fairly good, billet items and not cast, and I would have happily used them if they had fitted. Dusty

Hi Dusty, I use exactly the same pot with the tuning forks on. The only problem I have is the brake one is black like yours and the clutch one is plain billet alloy. I got them of Norbo years ago. Would happily swap my billet alloy one for your black one so I have a matching pair!!

Under the seal the pot is held in by a c-clip, once removed the pot will come out easily, I guess you already know this.

You know I said I couldn't warrant spending £80 on a mini fluid pot ?? 20171221_184105 by David Miller, on Flickr I blame Mouse We were talking about it and he made me see sense !! It's only money - I say that as the wife never reads this forum !! All the way from Perth, Australia. Really nicely made and the dimensions for fitting into the master cylinder are exactly the same as the Suzuki item. The ill fitting Chinese pot looks big in comparison; 20171221_190217 by David Miller, on Flickr Got some really nice shorty billet levers now too but as Santa is bringing them there are no pics until Monday !! Dusty, if it makes you feel any better I spent £75 on a Rizoma reservior for the black and blue hybrid, it finished the bike off, was voilently expensive, bit a quality peice of kit and looks mint on the bike, sometimes you ahve to spend the proper money to get the look you want looking good though, the bike that is, not you !!

Cheers Dave I felt good about it as soon as I had ordered it. It seems a drop in the ocean when I work out how much the bike has cost me. Plus I tried a few different combinations of fluid pipe set up and none of them looked great, and ultimately this is what I really wanted. Dusty

Hey Dusty, that fluid pot looks great, get an ant to pee in it, probably fill it!!
Don't worry about the cost your bikes are absolutely mint and they deserve it!
