I've just done a plug chop on my F2 and for peace of mind just would like your opinions? I believe they are fine! I have grafted some JL end cans onto my standard pipes but everything else is standard apart from 200 mains (thanks Drew  ) I hope I did this right? With new plugs I gave the bike a good thrashing through the gears (felt good too ) and then coasted to a stop very quickly with the clutch in!

To do a proper plug chop you need to be on full throttle for approx five seconds hit the kill switch and pull the clutch in at the same time.
Should be done on nearly new plugs
looking at your plugs in the pic you are running a bit rich which is ok

its not always as easy it sounds to do a decent plug chop...i find it a bit like juggling ...cant do that properly either ;D sound advice is to start a couple of sizes bigger then work back as too small runs too lean which makes the bike run hot and gives the problems a bit too big will just run a bit flatter, but shouldnt endanger the engine...

Cheers for the replies guys Pabs I've changed the mains from 185 standard to 200 but felt the bike was running rich on standard trim (probably me being a pussy ) jacobeana,so many theory's of how to do this it gets a bit confusing Right then guy's I've tried to take some better pictures of the plugs because the first one wasn't a truly good picture of them....bloody camera or is it me And trust me they are brand new!! what I think I did do wrong is although I warmed the engine up with old plugs I put the new ones in when I left the house and had to go down a few lanes before I could get out onto the stretch of road  so tomorrow I will clean them back up and change the plugs at the road side and pick a longer road (not sure about 6 miles though :? ) and have another go! I tried to take some more better pictures but again not brilliant:roll:

I tried to take some more better pictures but again not brilliant:roll: Vin Trust me i was taught how to due a plug chop by a two stroke tuner and i did tons of plug chops on a rolling road You should always use plugs which have done a few miles the plugs should already have colour on them, the darkest plugs will always change colour when you do a plug chop new plugs will not give you a correct result as you will see white porcelain Run the bike on full throttle for a min five seconds hit the cut out switch and pull the clutch in a perfect set up the plug should be biscuit brown, you should also be looking into the plug at the base of the porcelain, you can also check if your timing is correct, look at the top of the electrode with a magnifying glass you should see a silver ring round the edge If you try again tomorrow wear something warm it going to be cold ;D
