I rode my mates SE on the Isle of Man a few years back and loved it. Been deliberating about one since. Let's see if I like it after a few weeks with it...

Probably a gel seat cos all the ones I've ridden have been about as supple as concrete!........a lovely bike though

After the Isle of man I invested in a gel seat, they also sound crap with standard exhaust as most bike di. I use the arrow pipes with the baffle removed. Also forget the tyres pressures listed in the book, it took me ages to set the suspension for me and get the tyre pressures correct but now its set up correct for me its awesome. Keep the bobbins on the front floating disks clean or it will feel like the brake disks are warped and fail the MOT.

Heard triples can use a little oil, any experience of this?

Well, made it home on Friday, despite man flu! And fitted some Triumph LED indicators and smaller number plate to tidy up the back end.

I'm the opposite Paul! I only do about 1500 miles a year on my LC, but around 8000 on my diesel. Done 4000 on my DR350 since march too.

I used to be a Triumph mechanic here in Sweden back in 2000-2003 (with the 955 engine) and back then it was possibel to reprogram the ECU so one could make an RS or ST (110 hp) run like a Daytona (130 hp at higher revs)) if the former was fitted with K&N-type airfilter and racecan,,loads of fun. Dont know if it is possibel with the new ones though.

I must get mine out soon, I cleaned it in October and put it to bed for the winter. I have just assigned my personal number plate to it. Roll on spring.

I nearly bought one but then heard horror stories of breakdowns and massively expensive servicing so bought another R1 instead!
