Vdue engine, yikes Thought you said small budget im hoping it is ,most of the money is going on the engine ,most of the rest of it i have as i keep a good supply of spares for my other bikes i bought it over the space of a year when i got an nsr250 mc21 sp engine with dry clutch that needed a rebuild ,so i bought everything to re build that then thought that would be ace in a special ,and over the year i kept buying stuff from japan .i now have every piece for the nsr engine to run it including pgm box ,clocks ,pv motor, loom ,switches , reg/rec even rear brake switch ,clocks have 0 miles on them anyway i got offerd the v due bottom end and thought id rather do the 500 any day than the 250 so 250 engine now sits in boxes ,im thinking of selling it on e bay ,but it would make a nice special someone has one in a crf250 and it looks the bollox ! both cranks rebuilt ,gearbox removed and new bearings and seals and new crank seals

ive got a good bit of a bottom end sorry about the pics ,quality is poor bottom end is clean and shiny ,just looks bad in the pics got most of the clutch in a box since the pics ive bought starter motor ,clutch slave ,alternator also spent a fortune in italy with piero the v-due man on 2 new complete top ends ,barrels heads ,powervalves piston kits ,gaskets o-rings ect aprilia rs 250 frame and swingarm is in the garage ,as is front end and rs250 rear wheel just waiting for the parts to come ,then next lot will have front sprocket stuff there so i /we can get it mounted in the frame . im hoping engine should be complete by new year ish the only 2 stroke 500 v2 as far as i know are honda nsr500 v2 and aprilia 500v2 one for sale here 140 hp so not much more ! but 150,000 quid , makes a v-due look worth the £15,000 www.visordown.com/motorcycle-news--general-news/haradas-500cc-gp-aprilia-for-sale/1435.htmlGary, I'm not bloody going to Italy to pick up parts for you! LOL Good luck with the build mate, I'll be following this with great interest

no parcels yet bloody Christmas ! im pretty confident i can do this now ,my big worry was the electrics as im ok ish with them but something like this needs a bit more than i know ,but i recon with bit of help i can do it the thing i couldn't get my head round was the rotor is on the end of a different crank web to the flywheel and alternator and its a toothed wheel with about 30 teeth on it then a gap ,i think they were for the fuel injection or something if you look at the pics of the flywheel or the one below you can see the hole in the end of the crank rods for the 2 stroke oil feed pic i have been talking to borat who makes the zeel boxes and he put me onto a german who has made some rotors to work with his zeel 24v boxes and borut has some maps i think so ordered the rotor today ,so that's one less worry ,it seems like im going to be able to get this build started over Christmas ,just an lc engine to rebuild and a kr1s to fully re-build including engine and i can make a start i hope to be posting pics this week of my new barrels and heads and powervalves ,and loads more bits ! keeping my fingers crossed !

That's an interesting bit of tech -some sort of crank position sensor. Does the toothed wheel turn at the same speed as the crank? I know your not using it but I'm just nosey.

looks that way dusty ! got a call off my mate tonight and he has a couple of weeks off work around christmas and just after the new year he has built a lot of streetfighters and done a load of stroker engine conversions ,so just the sort of man you need to know i could work it out myself but 2 heads are better than one . if we work out the bracket sizes then get one of the lads to machine me up some billet brackets that need mounting to the frame spars and then 2 at the front . got pics of exactly what i need to do didnt get any help from from the guy in italy building one , he wont give me any dimentions but i got everything else i need so sometime soon i will post some pics to show what is happening . its just taking the step to do something as once the mounts are cut off the 500 quid frame then its no good for an rs250 is it ? i need to take a leap of faith with the grinder.

no steve its on the pump it has a clever system i will show later it pumps oil down the inside of the cranks to the main bearings ive not looked at the oil feed for the carbs yet but that wont be a problem

no steve its on the pump it has a clever system i will show later it pumps oil down the inside of the con rods to the main bearings ive not looked at the oil feed for the carbs yet but that wont be a problem Sounds more sophisticated then the Yamaha "just chuck it in the inlet" lube system! If only Bimota had got the V-Due running properly , there were so many innovations to the 2 stroke.

i ment through the crank shaft not the con rod a mate called in today who is well into 2 stroke race reps and noticed a few things about the engine i hadent It's a twingle engine, both cylinders fire at the same time.sort of big bang Each cylinder is counter rotating too. Single crankshaft for each cylinder rather than a shared crank. thats what he said !

HAD A GOOD LOOK AT IT TODAY put the engine to the frame to see how close it is and what needs to come off there is quite a bit of work to be done but my mate says its doable built a bit of the engine roughly just for the mock up pics there is no going back now !!!!!!!!!!! engine with barrels and heads

put the engine to the frame to see how close it is and what needs to come off engine with barrels and heads Never seen a V-Due engine before .. there's so much to look at in this pic, beautiful little details everywhere on it. Always loved Bimotas for that, the thought that goes into the engineering on them is spot on. Shame they weren't as good at running a business as they were at putting bikes together!
