Bit more imagination with the pic needed lads. Not just sitting in the drive or garden. More like the fizzy or farmboys sitting in a field. IMO. ? lead by example, Come on anyoldiron, a background of your front lawn with pristine Canadian wilderness behind it isn't showing much imagination is it? Couldn't you have got your pet moose on the photo trying to mount the bike? or get one of the local wolves to piss on the front wheel?

This one could have been an LC, because Villiers did make a water-cooled version of their X1VA engine- but I have never seen one. This is my Francis Barnett 250cc Seagull from 1938. My mother's cousin bought this bike new, for £40.00 in 1938. He passed it on to me in 1978, and I finally got round to restoring it this year. Cheers Dave Hi Dave, Sorry to hijack the post and take it a bit off topic, but while I was browsing ebay there looking at Villiers stuff, I found this, its an XIV Liquid Cooled Villiers engine from the 1930,s as you mentioned in your post. It looks a bit far gone, even for me, as I already have two MK V1-C Villiers from the 1920,s soaking in buckets of diesel, and have done for almost a year now, and they are still seized solid ! I knew I had heard someone mentioning an XIV Villiers LC engine recently, and after looking, I found your post on here. Sorry again for taking the thread off topic. Cheers, Steven. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Villiers-Engine-Water-Cooled-Liquid-Cooled-Post-Vintage-SOS-Francis-Barnett-moto-/191361504405?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item2c8e08d495
