Dude, that sounds like a nightmare to me. Had the same prob with my SV last year, tried to patch it myself but just kept unearthing more holes! If you want to save money then look for a product called Petrol Patch (small bottle, stuff inside looks like primer) and have a bash BUT you might end up with a patchwork quilt effect! Good luck. ;D

you can use epoxy based glues like araldite or something like chemical metal or real steel to repair a tank from the outside,i've done this myself n its worked ok. they also do a sealer that you pour in the tank...havent used that but i've heard it works...i've found that by the time you find one or two little holes you have others on the way!!!

Hi Mate
I do lots of silver soldering and its just to dangerous on a tank you have to heat the metal up until its cherry red.

I repared a lc tank before, Used this epoxy stuff from the states very expensive for what it was and it fixed the leak very well i painted over it as it was under the tank and a couple of weels later a small amount started to seep from around the out side of the repair and so on and so on intill it was all used up and about 5" of stuff around it . BL*" to that i will never prpair a tank again lost all confidence it the putty stuff cost me £20 for nothing

the transit tank i welded up was lace work, petrol pissing out all over the place, took ages running weld all over it and it was good but the fuel was still seeping through...gobbed some chemical metal over the welds n it stopped it!! still dont leak!! that was 4 years ago...cost about £4 my lc tank now has a run of gob running down both sides cos after 26 years most of them are a bit rusty..i think the key with the repairs is the preparation...and me being so tight!

I had a CVRT ( Combal Vehical Tracked )Tank whelded when I was in the army, I had to run water through it for 24 hours and it still went bang !!! After that we used liquid metal and never had one leak.
