Small world I only recently joined the forum and I stayed in Cumbernauld from 1967 until 1983 LC owner from 81 stayed at Skye Dr used the circular garages. My sister has recently moved back and its her ex LC I've been rebuilding. I am a bit older than your generation but I know Ian roles and my family were friends with his Dad(Legend) Tommy Certainly is a small world. Remember his dad and the wrestling club. It was after drooling over his 750 turbo I was determined to own one. Not saw Mike for years, sadly he was not too good when I last talked to him. Could not remember having bikes. Circular garages still down there but the sea far ones and the flats are being demolished. Steve

slightly off subject guys are the you (scottish) forum memberss voting thursday staying with us or moving to pastures new I am a no. They say the country would be richer but I don't agree with us being better off at the expense of the rest of the UK. It's like being offered a pay rise but they are taking it off a colleague. All a bit fack you jack, we're alright Steve

I believe Mike passed away our families 1st met at the old sports centre Mike was still wrestling himself at the time I was involved in the Gymnastics and Trampoline Mikes daughter Fiona was also one of the kids in the Trampoline club We almost lived in that place. Lost touch with most people because I have stayed in Lanarkshire since 88

Think it must have been around 2000 I last saw him and as said was not too well looking. Forgot about Fiona. My Dad worked in the Tryst for years until he retired, pool guard then night security. Where in Lanarkshire are you now? Steve

Never really did the Reflections bit, was more into rock and bikes then settled down. It was Sax after that, I may just have frequented that quite a lot after we broke up. Steve

Hi I Stay in Blantyre now I remember the Kestrel well I think it was the Mallard we used to frequent as youngsters (terrible memory landed on my head to often) Cumbernauld was a great race track they build all the roads before the houses and we all had bikes not like today I hate to think what the average age for a biker is nowadays

The average age of bikers today is..........they qualify for Saga holidays. And coach trips are more suitable for them, rather than Club 18 30.

Did the kestrel used to be where the golden eagle hotel was?
In my time it was under reflections. That whole building along with farmfoods is now a wetherspoons.
Mallard was the pub in greenfaulds, now called the swan.
Cumbernauld used to be a race track. It was designed so you could walk anywhere without crossing or walking beside a road. All a series of roundabouts with loop roads linking them, all at national speed limit
