Day 5, oh my god you wouldn't believe the amount of crap coming out of the tank!!!!! pics to follow. Had a thought though, if its good for the tank would it be as good for say a Fuel tap? anyway found an old tap and placed it in a small bowl. will let you all know how it gets on, any thoughts about what would happen to the seals inside?

Post by andrew on Sept 13, 2014 18:04:12 GMT 1
After 10 mins the solution with the fuel tap in it is still bubbling away and the water has gone from clear to light grey now a darker grey, so its either cleaning the tap nicely or the ali is melting!!!!!

Before I forget the fuel tap came out of the solution 24 hrs. later and seems ok (emphasis on luke warm "Ok") definitely cleaned the grime off, expected the brass nozzles to shine but they don't (in fact the solution doesn't really seem to have touched brass at all) - the overall finish is a dark grey but im thinking that this is possibly the original colour, so basically results inconclusive. Need another guinea pig,,,,, looking at those front callipers awaiting a rebuild,,,,hmmmmm?
